- New — I spoke to eight people who were present at the ICE protest on Saturday in Portland, Oregon when federal agents deployed tear gas and rubber bullets into a crowd of families, children, elderly and disabled people, and their pets. These are their stories:
- My son and daughter, both young adults in their 20's, were there. Today my daughter showed me a selfie video she took after she had gotten safe from the gas with tears running down her face. Because some fucking cowards don't like people peacefully exercising their rights to assemble and protest.
- awful. i’m glad they’re both ok.
- Thank you. As we were hugging and crying together we talked a little about how radicalized everyone is feeling in the face of this overt facism. It's come home to all corners of the country. It's here. Now.Feb 3, 2026 04:15
