- I now have two sets of LotR: one hardcover box set collection and now these Ballantines I snagged this weekend. I already had a paperback Ballantine Silmarillion so that's a nice almost-match! These copies from 1965 were the first authorized reprint of LotR as I recall, and hugely influential.

- Watched Highlander last night with my wife and kids. Kids had never seen it. Naturally, it was a winner, because that movie is a gold medal flick and I will brook no arguments to the contrary.

- I mean this in the most flattering way possible, though it'll be a bit backhanded, but: this song is so damn good, it drives me crazy this band hasn't made more songs like it. The rest of their sound is very different. But this song goes so hard. I've probably listened 100x in the past year or so.
