People don't often realise how much of an impact teachers have.
Been reminiscing tonight. I just found out one of my jazz teachers, who formed a lot of the foundation for my playing, passed away four days ago. The news only just broke.
She was one of only three people back at my old university
that actually gave a shit about me. In a cohort that was built on narcissism, she was one of the few who tought the skills of the craft.
I left that university to pursue a 'nerdier' form of engaging with the artform, and I never thought I was affected by her.
And yet, here I am, bawling my eyes

I really just wanna say...if you're a teacher out there, especially one who cares and wants their students to succeed...keep doing what you're doing.
You never know the impact you truly have, and yet that impact remains all the same.
