- After six years serving as International President of @msf.org, the time has come to pass the torch. This role has never been about power, but about responsibility.Sep 3, 2025 15:26
- Responsibility to the patients whose dignity we fight to protect, to the colleagues we’ve lost along the way, and to the principles that hold our movement together; even as the world around us fractures.
- Together, we’ve stood at the edge of impossible choices: in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, Haiti, Yemen, Afghanistan, and other places where the space for humanity has been squeezed. We’ve spoken uncomfortable truths, reshaped our institutions, and remained rooted in our purpose while embracing change.
- None of this was easy. But I leave this role with a deep sense of pride, gratitude, humility, and, above all, trust. Trust in a movement that still dares to care. Trust in a new generation of leaders. Trust in the colleagues who continue to hold the line, wherever they are.
- I warmly welcome Dr Javid Abdelmoneim, who will begin his mandate with an unwavering commitment to our shared mission. As I step away, I carry with me a profound belief that MSF’s greatest strength lies in its people. Thank you all for allowing me to serve.
