- People have been looking at "AI & brains" through the lens of LLMs/transformers. But what latent diffusion? (think text-to-image/video platforms such as Midjourney). **Class conditioned latent diffusion and semantically cued hippocampus share a remarkably similar computational architecture...**
- Reposted by DrBreakyWho is planning to go to the @ohbmofficial.bsky.social Australia chapter meeting? I'm leaving Australia soon so want to meet as many lovely Aussies as possible on my conference tour 😀
- Reposted by DrBreakyIt was a great pleasure presenting preliminary results from my ongoing study on social-affective inference and constricted affect at the @newybrains.bsky.social lunch symposium series. We found some interesting first effects of positive affective surprise and bodily responses. 🙂

- On this auspicious day, I finally bit the bullet & asked my super post-doc @annabhlr.bsky.social to teach me how to code & run Python (today!) Coding lifeline now goes: BASIC (1982); FORTRAN (1990); MAPLE (1992); MATLAB (1999); PYTHON (2025) (a bit of a gap between the last two!)

- With advance of LLMs, its inevitable they are going to be used to prepare manuscripts. I haven't (yet) but I see a role even as an experienced author. It's surprising that most journals don't yet have formal policies. The minimum should be a checklist on submission & a verbal statement in the paper
- This sounds catastrophic: " a wide range of restrictions, including the abrupt cancellation of meetings such as grant review panels ... a communications pause, a freeze on hiring, and an indefinite ban on travel." www.science.org/content/arti...
