- 230 million women worldwide live with the effects of Female Genital Mutilation. This International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM, we confront this serious human rights violation. In Afar, Ethiopia, FGM is widespread. (1/2)🧵
- Just to be very clear, every single taxi journey to a medical appointment has ALWAYS required Home Office approval - both now and in the past. All this article does is show the government taking credit for “fixing” a problem it created through poor management.
- Reposted by Doctors of the WorldWe may not have guns but we do have: ⚠️ICE-style raids invading homes and workplaces ⚠️Indefinite detention of women, children and men ⚠️Deportation footage bragged about on TikTok ⚠️Riot police used on peaceful protest ⚠️Politicians calling for mass deportations. This isn’t “just America.”

- Russia’s drone strikes have hit our Ukrainian warehouse. After more than 300 drone attacks on Dnipro, Kyiv and Odesa, our materials warehouse sustained major damage. We are relieved to confirm that all local staff are safe, and that medical stocks remain intact.
- Trafficking and torture survivors should never be detained ❌ The ‘one-in, one-out’ scheme is not a free pass to ignore medical advice or safeguarding. Detaining people who have survived severe trauma and abuse could have devastating consequences. @medicaljustice.org.uk
- Fancy cycling through Belgium’s rolling countryside? Take on 200km in 24 hours as part of a team of 3 or 4, supporting access to healthcare and medical aid worldwide. 📅 12–13 Sept | 📍Luxembourg, Belgium Sign up 👉 www.doctorsoftheworld.org.uk/charity-fund...
- Death and disease in Home Office asylum camps ⚠️ Overcrowding, filthy conditions, and lack of healthcare access led to diphtheria, scabies, and two lives tragically being lost. This is disgraceful. Those responsible must be held accountable. One the many reasons we are calling to #CloseTheCamps.
- After surviving a traumatic journey, a phone can be the only link to family, healthcare or emergency help. Taking it away adds yet another loss to everything people seeking safety have been forced to leave behind.
- Reposted by Doctors of the WorldEvery single one of these deaths was preventable. Safe routes save lives. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
- The deregistration of INGOs in Gaza and the West Bank violates civilian rights under international humanitarian law. We stand with 52 aid organisations demanding an end to the Israeli Government's halt of life-saving aid, denying emergency medical assistance. Humanitarian access is not optional.
- Thank you for your support in 2025 💙 Because of you, our medical teams provided care to people in 70+ countries, often in the toughest humanitarian crises. Your support ensures healthcare reaches the people who need it most, even when systems are stretched. Here’s to #2026! 🎉
- 🚨Breaking: Russia's attack on #Ukraine kills 3, injures 11, and regions left without power. 600+ drones and 30+ missiles were launched, targeting civilians and energy infrastructure as temperatures drop to -8°C. 💙Our teams continue to provide emergency aid in mobile units and health facilities.

- We stand with @bmj.com against proposed changes to the UK asylum system. As health workers, we must speak up when policies put people’s health at risk. Weakening refugee protections & fuelling divisive narratives won’t unite the country - it will only benefit those who profit from keeping us apart.

- We took the French government to court - and WE WON. But the work isn’t over. The court ruled that living conditions in Dunkirk camps are illegal and inhumane, ordering urgent action. But basic healthcare is still missing. We have appealed to push for its inclusion. @humansforrights.bsky.social
- So the plan is to close one ‘fundamentally unsuitable’ barracks… only to open more? The same prison-like, isolating conditions that harm people’s health and wellbeing don't magically improve with a new postcode. #CloseTheCamps

- Before, during, and after a crisis - we are there. When systems fail and people are left without healthcare - in conflict zones, asylum camps, after climate disasters, or on migration routes - we step in. For 45 years, we have stood with people in need, and we'll never turn away.

- There have NEVER been ‘unrestricted’ taxis for asylum seekers. Travel to medical appointments has ALWAYS required Home Office approval. Many of the people we support miss urgent care because they can't get there. UK Gov must stop scapegoating people for its poor management ➡️ tinyurl.com/fzsk3aen
- APPEAL ⬇️ UK mobile clinics, advice line & outreach ⬇️ For 7 days only, every £1 you donate will be matched, doubling your support for the 1.8 million people in the UK who are currently unable to access healthcare. We're so grateful for any support you can give.
- Reposted by Doctors of the World“What we need is a competent and efficient refugee protection system that prioritises the health and wellbeing of people seeking safety and suitable housing for all who need it. This is what humanity looks like. This is what truly matters.“

- Dealing with sickness is scary enough as it is, nobody should feel like there will be consequences for seeking care. This is the sad reality of so many of our patients, stuck in our broken immigration and asylum systems.

- Deeply concerned about the Home Secretary’s planned asylum overhaul. The current system needs fixing, but today's proposals will bring more chaos while failing to address the real issues. Refugees need safety & stability to rebuild their lives - these changes threaten both.

- This is cruelty by design. Military barracks are not safe or appropriate for people who have survived violence & persecution. Housing refugees in camps next to sounds of shooting and dogs is shamefully reckless. #CloseTheCamps @asylummatters.bsky.social @care4calais.org @refugeeaction.bsky.social
- Help us tackle health inequalities in the UK! We’re #hiring a Services Coordinator to run our London outreach clinics & national advice line, helping excluded communities access healthcare & know their rights. Apply by 8 Dec 2025 ➡️ tinyurl.com/a27pwf5h
- People seeking asylum deserve care, not constant neglect. RAMFEL’s new report shows how poor nutrition and ignored medical needs are harming people's health - something we have seen again and again in our work at asylum hotels. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
- 🚨🚨🚨 Our new report on hotel accommodation drops today. These hotels are not 5*. Here's the proof. Relying on testimony from clients, photos & medical evidence, you can now see the awful reality of hotel life. More updates throughout the day so watch this space. www.ramfel.org.uk/asylum-hotel...

- 🔴 Children in UK government care are vanishing into traffickers' hands. The Home Office is failing them, leaving children with no choice but to cross the Channel alone and putting them at serious risk of sexual and physical abuse. Safe asylum accommodation must be a priority.
- What’s scarier than ghosts and vampires? This Halloween, the barriers blocking healthcare and safety are the real monsters. 🎃🧛♂️ 1️⃣ Borders devouring hope 2️⃣ Patients trapped in limbo 3️⃣ Fear feeding on minds 📊 Show results
- 🔴 #YEMEN: 18 million people are at risk of starvation. Just 10% of humanitarian needs are being met due to funding cuts and restrictions on aid workers. The international community must act now to save lives.
- One year since the #Valencia floods. Last October, a year’s worth of rain fell in just 8 hours, destroying homes and claiming over 200 lives. Many families are still rebuilding - and we are there with them, providing mental health support and helping strengthen health systems.
- Reposted by Doctors of the WorldLess than 24hrs after a damning Home Affairs report condemned military sites for asylum housing, Labour announces two more. Wethersfield must close. Napier must close. Cameron and Crowborough must not open. People seeking safety belong in communities, not camps.
- Must the @ukhomeoffice.bsky.social keep making the same expensive and cruel mistakes? Our medical teams have responded many times to the harm caused by and in these camps. People are isolated from healthcare, community and the people they love, suffocating any sense of hope and safety.
- ⚠️ #BREAKING: A High Court ruling has temporarily protected a refugee from becoming homeless overnight. The 56-day move-on period must be reinstated so people have a chance to get back on their feet and rebuild their lives. @refugeecouncil.bsky.social

- Safe housing = good public health, it's that simple. Instead, people are trapped in a cycle of poverty and illness, struggling to even access medical care. It is unacceptable for anyone to be living in these conditions, including people seeking asylum. #CloseTheCamps
- When did people become bargaining chips? 🛑 The UK government should focus on fixing the NHS, tackling homelessness, and clearing the asylum backlog so that people seeking safety can rebuild their lives instead.
- After two years of genocide, we welcome the ceasefire and hostage release. Hope has risen before, only to be crushed by renewed violence. This ceasefire must hold. Humanitarian aid must reach Palestinians NOW. We are ready at the border with a mobile clinic and 115 pallets of supplies.
