- "substantially" is notable given this is in people with treatment-resistant depression, i.e. when there is a depression that has not responded to at least two other antidepressants.
- Our new study published in TheLancetPsych! We found that pramipexole augmentation substantially reduced depressive symptoms in patients with treatment-resistant depression over 48 weeks of treatment. This is an important advance in how we treat depression! 1/6 www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

- Thank you @santhouse.bsky.social for this exploration of the blurry line between healthy and ill, of how cultural norms affect our views of who is ill. It highlights challenges when we get this wrong - like raising awareness without having sufficient answers. A very curageous and necessary book!

- Super to see this out! Pavlovian biases have shown predictive power a surprising range of settings, e.g. long-term course of alcohol use. Here, we find that Pavlovian biases are engaged by therapy; and that this engagement medicates outcomes in NHS setting. Congratulations @liobanause.bsky.social!

- This was hard work, but ultimately there is support in the literature that engagement of different RL processes by serotonergic and dopaminergic/noradrenergic pharmacological interventions may be a promising route to follow. The @relmed.bsky.social study will do just that.

- Thank you @clairelavalley.bsky.social and @rssmith.bsky.social. Striking to see aversive pruning altered in people with methamphetamine use, particularly given the results in depression (dx.doi.org/10.1017/S003...).
- Huge congrats to @clairelavalley.bsky.social on this new paper. www.nature.com/articles/s41.... Results show that methamphetamine users show a specific deficit in model-based planning, in which they fail to simulate plans with large short-term losses (elevated aversive pruning).
