- Reposted by David WoodruffJust finished first door knocking for the Greens. Honestly most hopeful I’ve felt about politics in a while. Felt good to not just sit watching the world burn (as I’ve been feeling the last months) and instead try to do doing something with others (even if very small)
- Reposted by David WoodruffMight we tactfully point out that to obsess negatively with trans people when the richest and most powerful men in the world are trying to reverse centuries of humane progress and equality to acquire impunity for rape and murder shows a weird sense of priorities?

We are putting Palantir on notice, This is a military surveillance company tied to authoritarian surveillance and the devastation in Gaza — and it has no role in our NHS.

- Reposted by David WoodruffNational media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation. Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

- To paraphrase Polanyi: the ICE assault was planned, massive resistance was not. That the social fabric—the relationships and ongoing patterns of interaction that get us through our lives—should be reliable is a broadly shared moral conviction. Not only markets provoke protective. countermoves.
- Reposted by David WoodruffKeir Starmer did everything he could to be US poodle and his strategy has ended in total humiliation. Both him and Farage are puppets of a hostile foreign nation. It's obvious that if someone is a bully - you don't just keep appeasing them. Disastrous strategy by Labour.
- Not that it's the most important thing going on right now, but it continues to be outrageous that the BoE has its own gilt issue policy, for no good reason. It's still selling gilts of 30-yrs+ maturity, whereas the DMO has now stopped entirely.
- Dear @lseblogs.bsky.social -- In light of this contribution, is there any chance we could switch to a template that doesn't give an option to share our blogs on X, and does give an option to share them on Bluesky?

- Reposted by David WoodruffRather excellent thread Let’s be very clear here. This is exactly why it was exceptionally unwise of the Supreme Court to wade into this space using ‘biological sex’ as a defining concept, because as soon as you talk to actual biologists the simple binary unravels. Not a stable basis for law.

- Reposted by David WoodruffFor the second year in a row, the wealth gains for the 100 richest Americans exceeded what ALL American households spent on groceries combined. ~$995B for billionaires vs ~$775B in total grocery spending. We have an oligarchy and inequality problem masquerading as an affordability crisis.

- IMHO, Murphy's very sloppy. But UK fiscal policy since QE/QT amounts to MMT that dare not speak its name. Viz:Osborne et al spent ~£120 bln of the money created to purchase gilts in QE. Too much monetisation-financed fiscal spending, or too little? MMT could at least pose the question! As for QT 1/n
