- Discord is working on an onboarding addition which allows you to select connections that new members joining your server will be suggested (but not forced) to connect to their accounts.
- Discord has contributed assets for emoji in Unicode 17.0 to the Twemoji repository. You can expect the following emojis to be supported on Discord in the future. Additionally, emojis like👯 will support displaying multiple skin color variations at once as per the new standard.
- Discord is working on a bunch of smaller improvements to the clipping experience. This includes a better clip library, overhauled editing interfaces and in-chat reminders to send recently captured clips.
- Discord is working on bringing the ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) feature, which is currently already available to a select group of iOS users, to its desktop client. This tab on your home screen will display messages, announcements, summaries, scheduled server events, and more.
- Discord is removing the slowmode bypass from the Manage Messages permission and making it its own standalone permission. This change is scheduled to take effect on January 12, 2026, but the new permission will be available well in advance to this, giving servers time to migrate.
- Discord is working on a new system for their Social SDK that lets connected games display in-game information within custom widgets on your Discord profile.
- Discord is working on a new message component for bots. With this component, developers can set the minimum and maximum number of files users can upload. The upload limit is based on the user's upload quota, which can be increased by purchasing Nitro or by boosting the server.
- As we've previously reported, Discord is working on adding server hosting for various games as a boosting perk. You will be able to select from different plans with various RAM, CPU, and storage configurations, each of which will cost a different number of server boosts.
- Discord and Shockbyte may be collaborating to bring a new feature to server boosting. A new "GAME_SERVER_HOSTING" server feature suggests Discord is working on letting server owners rent a game server through server boosts.
- Discord is partnerting with Epic Games and Nvidia to offer users the ability to play Fortnite directly within Discord voice channels via GeForce Now. This new voice channel activity will allow users to try the game for up to 30 minutes (limited per account).
- Discord is adding two new packs of Server Tag Icons that can be unlocked by buying them with additional boosts! The Pets icon pack (Bnuuy, Dog, Frog, Goat, and Frog) will cost 3 Boosts to unlock, while the Flex icon pack (Diamond, Crown, Trophy, Pouch, and Cash) will cost 6 Boosts!
- Discord has partnered with DaFuq!?Boom! to release the Skibidi Toilet avatar and profile decorations.
- May 8th restriction has been lifted, the feature is now out to all servers regardless of creation date.

- Discord has implemented a new notification system for Android users regarding changes to Nitro subscription pricing. This may affect customers who currently benefit from regional pricing, and seems to only target users who pay for their Nitro subscription through Google Play.

- Discord might be planning on adding new types of purchasable items to the Shop. In a recent survey, Discord shared details about potential Blind Box/Lootbox, Limited Time, Limited Quantity and Upgradeable purchase types. Please note that none of these are guaranteed to release.
- Now rolled out to 1% of servers. In addition, the rollout will work differently going forward: Likely to combat platform abuse, any servers created after 9pm CEST (3pm ET for Americans) today are no longer eligible for the rollout.
- Discord has begun implementing the Mod Queue UI, which reuses parts of the Forum Channel UI. It's currently unknown how the reported content will appear in Mod Queue posts but posts will contain a log of the moderator's actions on the report.
- Tierless boosting, which grants access to server tags and gradient roles, has been rolled out to 0.1% of servers.
- Discord is adding the ability for server members to natively report messages to mods/admins. Reports made this way will be sent to a special forum-like channel set up by server admins.
- Discord is currently in the process of redesigning the profile modal once again, separating the profile card from the activity/mutual tabs.
- Discord has just announced the appointment of Humam Sakhnini as their new CEO, with former CEO Jason Citron remaining on the Board of Directors and transitioning to a role as Advisor to the CEO.
- In a new update on the canary (alpha) release channel, Discord has removed the accessibility option to hide Guild Tags.
- Discord will be adding support for 8 new emojis added in Unicode 16.0 soon. Additionally the design of the Syrian flag is getting updated.
- Discord is currently working on a major overhaul of the message components system that apps (formerly known as bots) and webhooks can use, allowing developers to create much more versatile message layouts.
- DM wallpapers are now being rolled out and are currently available to 20% of users.
- According to a recent survey, Discord is considering adding new message formatting features. Examples of these new formatting features include colors, fonts, sizes, and animations.

- This is what DM wallpapers will look like! At the moment it looks like you will only be able to select premade wallpapers, not upload your own.
