Something a lot of critics miss is that AIPAC's strategy of direct spending in partisan primaries is actually really new, and is indicative of weakness, not strength. AIPAC used to not have to do any of this, but now they feel compelled. Now, just 5yrs in, they spend against pro-Israel candidates.
