- First international rail journey of the year 🌷🧀🇳🇱
- Funny how almost everyone sitting in the family section had to get up and leave once the families with said reserved seats showed up.
- My absolute hate goes out to business people on phones who decide to sit themselves in the reserved family/children's seats on the train. Business bro was absolutley flabbergasted when I told him we was sitting in our seats.
- Went to Clärchens Ballhaus the other day and finally had the chance to try the fried Spreewald Gurken. Not terrible to be honest.
- It's been quite some time since we last posted something on the website - but we are finally getting back into things. A new urbex post will be up next week 👌🏻
- Why else would you have a shower in the bathroom?
- Suddenly remember (one) of the piles of undeveloped film I've been ignoring 👀👀👀
- Finished off 3 rolls of film this weekend so I might as well develope them
- Have you noticed that the massive Ernst-Thälmann Monument hast been fenced in for a couple of weeks now? Turns out that the supporting structure underneath has been slowly rotting away and needs to be fixed. This will probably take a while.... #berlin
- Love that my kids book uses both France and Great Britain as examples of imperialism. Could use an update with Russia and the USA as well though....
- Jan 30 1945: Overcrowded with ~10,000 (pred.) civilian refugees & military personnel, the Wilhelm Gustloff set off from Gotenhafen, Prussia before being torpedoed by the Soviet sub S-13 close to Stolpmünde. An estimated 9000 people were killed, making it the deadliest maritime disaster in history
- Today is a good day 🙂
- Auch interessant wie die Russen laut der Umfrage Deutschland einstufen 👀
- Russians regard Poland and Lithuania as their greatest enemies among a list of 12 countries (not including Ukraine) presented to them in a survey by the Levada Center published this week. For more on the findings, read our report here: bit.ly/46lFIZE
- 🤡🤡🤡
- If someone is missing an airpod, there's one at the exit of S-Warschauer
- Bruh - I wish I had workdays like my kids have school days
- 0 Mitleid oder Verständnis für die Branche. Die Preise sind so absurd teuer - geschieht denen Recht wenn die Kunden ausbleiben 👍🏻
- Saw these posters pop up in town as well.
- Seems like the BVG is trying to put every piece of rolling stock on the tracks - unfortunately every single one of them are on "Betriebsfahrt" 🙃 #berlin
- Just saw the trifecta of stupidity: 1) a man riding on an escooter with his very young child 2) on a ice covered road 3) ignoring a red traffic light at a busy intersection #berlin

- They apparently talked about it in class today - and had loads of follow up questions.
- Explaining the Holocaust to my two 7 year olds on the bus wasn't on my bingo list today.
- One question that these right wing Poles never seem to answer though is, from where did the "immigrants" enter into Germany? 🤔 This Polish Minderwertigkeitskomplex is sooo tiring.
- Just a little bit frosty this morning #berlin
- Heading to Amsterdam with the kids for Winter break soon and I'm going to tell them this is the (former) Queen Beatrix #iykyk

- Fuck. What an absolute shame. This was 100% arson.
- Representatives from the 12 European monarchies be like 👀👀👀
- NGL - one of the view positive aspects of going to the office in the morning is this view
- Can't wait for the US to disolve like the Soviet Union and then have the Caliphate of Montana nuke the Missouri Bantustan Republic.
- "Mensch, Energie, Weltraum" (Man, Energy, Space) - Merseburg, Sachsen-Anhalt. Mosaic by Hannes H. Wagner, construction date unknown (c.1980s).
- Didn't have a clear view - but still caught a glimpse of the aurora borealis
- Saw this piece - "Der Seiltänzer" (1912) by Richard Seewald on Saturday at the Kunstmuseum Moritzburg and had to think of you @ykomska.bsky.social (really nice exhibit -> "Fragmente eines Lebens" Die Sammlung Hans-Hasso von Veltheims)
- What a great year to start writing a diary. Hopefully they'll have advanced the technology they are using to decipher the Pompei scrolls in the future - after weve all been burnt to a nuclear crisp.
- Reposted by iamkosmonautThis is a new grave. Two soldiers were found when authorities were renovating a bike path. They could see there was one German and lne British soldier but couldn’t tell the remains apart. So they were buried together in Poelkapelle. Symbolic gesture.
- Why's the air quality so bad in Berlin? Oh yeah - that's why....
- Did a little day tour to Merseburg yesterday. The city dates back to at least the year 881 - and there's plenty to see. Highly recommended 👌🏻
- You vs the Organ she told you not to worry about
- Putting those accumulated DB Travel points to good use for a free ICE trip 👍🏻
- NGL the prices for these are absolutely nuts (see screenshot) 👀👀👀 - which makes me even happier that I picked this up for an absolute bargain directly from a seller in Czechia.
- The year's still young - but I've probably made my favorite purchase of the year already: A Czech Pragotron C301 from the early 1980s - with the original glass and screws. An absolutely beautiful clock 😘

- On Jan 14, 1975, a MiG-21 of the East German Air Force suffered a catastrophic engine failure during a training flight. A maintenance error - securing a compressor hatch with only 2 out of required 28 quick-release fasteners - caused the engine to shut down mid-air over Cottbus. 1/7
