Seeing a really good-looking new lit horror magazine and jumping on the submissions and seeing no mention of payment at all 🙃 and for some reason I'm scared to ask and check because that might be 'rude' 🙃 like, trust me, I have really low self-worth, but I want a contributor copy at least 😅
Feb 2, 2026 11:12Also, I realise that I am not one of those authors who 'gives back' by buying and reviewing books and mags from every small press going and that is because writing is my only tiny income and I absolutely cannot afford the money to buy or the time to read, and that's unfortunately just how it is 🤷♂️
Believe me, I feel bad and guilty about this every single day.
