SecOps perhaps human in academia in SC
- We had the good fortune of having @andrewmorr.is in the SOC for most of the day learning up the kids!
- It's simply because they didn't use the jingle Ween wrote for them in 2003. "Where'd the cheese go?"
- What! First semester international relations material, gone
- Need some data hoarders to save the CIA's World Factbook—a definitive source on many topics—since they're now killing it www.cia.gov/stories/stor...
- Spot investigated the snow, Elliott prefers the barn. #goats
- The report from on campus is that the kids have broken out the improv sleds, such as laundry baskets
- This simulation stuff going off the rails continues to astound me. 4chan and the dude went to DEF CON or at least had a non-trivial number of communications about it. I know humans create patterns that may not be there in our minds, but come on. We call upon the Author to explain.
- Every county in North and South Carolina is under a Winter Storm Warning. This is going to be interesting.
- This show is also one of the best depictions of autism I've seen. Little Wilson Two identified it almost immediately.
- Wonder Man. Wow. If you have any relationship with performing, please watch. One of the only TV shows / movies I’ve seen that actually has Silence in it.
- Looking like a big snowstorm down here. Schedule the whisky top up.

- I don’t think I’ve ever seen snow mist before. This is weird.
- In the midst of all this, like 1/4 of the US has to do stuff like fill bathtubs with water in case they lose power and their wells don’t work because of a massive ice storm….
- Lots of people Psalm posting today. David knew how to put this into words.
- The simulation isn’t trying hard enough @activemeasures.bsky.social Boathouse Whoville, etc
- Love hearing new students in the SOC ask questions that open up the world to them. "What is OFAC in this alert?" Prepare yourself.
- Begging for federal systems to just be normal. "You have 72 hours, but we've cleverly made this not work in novel ways. You must import a cert that doesn't work after filling out a webform that just creates a text file that we could've accepted in the first place. Good luck."
- We had ice close to this in the early 2000s just south of Charlotte and all night long it was like fireworks. Tree after tree snapping and power lines going. In the mid 2010s the interstate between Columbia and Augusta shut there were so many pine trees down. Ice storms are horrible.
- Not now potential ice storm. Snow is ok, .5 to 1 inch of ice sure isn’t.
- Mrs Wilson and I having a discussion about treat-onomics and buying some stuff to have just an inkling of hope or happiness. Her: “I’m going to get some new boots.” Me:
- “Y’all got any food or a couple blankets?”
- I’m sorry but even seeing those French mountain troops’ hats should cause anyone to back off. “These mf’s serious.”
- Time Machine me talking to 1990 me considering a trip to Berlin, “see in this future in 2027 you won’t even be able to go to the UK - and it’s all because of climate, gender, and boredom, and its focal point ended up being Greenland, isn’t that surprising!?”
- Y’all remember how crazy it was that Driscoll was negotiating? That was like a month ago.
- The Virginia Slims would’ve been an in-group signifier issue. Should be Djarum, Camel Filters, or Dunhills.
- I can’t even properly mourn Bob Weir right now
- In case you’ve forgotten, which I had, Denmark was considering NATO Article 4 only three months ago because of the drones at the airport thing. Three months ago.
- “Proxies? We don’t need no proxies.”
- lisan_al_gaib.gif
- Touch of the Philip Glass and ended with Heroes. "You're the target audience."

- Watched the Festivus episode of Seinfeld with the teenagers. It’s the first time they’ve seen Seinfeld. Teenager 2: “I understand this is supposed to be funny but it just seems like abuse.”
