I emerged from Hibernation Week to write it, so god only knows how much sense it makes. But at least a human wrote it, so that's nice. Bonus: picture of my "cat," sweet baby Boomba.

- Ah woke up to a rejection from a flash piece that had made it past the first round, a special kind of conflicted sadness. Once again back to the writing board 🖤
- Ok after just about surviving the violence inducing start to this hobby, I think I might actually nearly be entering the 'maybe it actually could be relaxing' stage.... I might only ever do one stitch, but hey, lots of them make a blanket right?
- A nice day of webinars about witch trials, chilling with the dog, and carving a pumpkin (the first we've had for years!). Now opted for Omen 3 for evening viewing. Happy Halloween y'all, I hope you are enjoying yourselves 🖤

- So today would have been my mom's birthday. The second one since she passed. Grief has been a strange beast. Aggressive in the beginning, an ache over time. Now an occasional sense of unmooring. Time changes things, but doesn't change that she was an amazing woman who I still miss very much 🖤

- Finally watched Late Night With the Devil - more comedy than I was expecting, but very enjoyable and would probably stand up to a rewatch. Very well executed and some interesting threads. Reminded me a little of @thenosleeppodcast.bsky.social vibes 🖤

- Finished 'Old Soul' by Susan Barker last night and still thinking about it. Such a gorgeously written, unnerving horror. It's not loud, or gory, but it sneaks under your skin. Highly recommend (especially as it is spooky season, after all) 🖤😱 #BookSky

- Been gradually introducing this menace to being off lead (quiet places, trying to make it as safe and controlled as possible) - today was one of those days where there were moments where her training seemed to go straight out the window and I felt like such a bad dog mom
