Brent River Park
We are the Brent River & Canal Society who campaigned to create the Brent River Park in Ealing, London 50 years ago. It’s your park, join us to protect it💚💙
- Trumpers Crossing Halte closed 100 years ago. As you glance to your left when crossing the branch line on your way from Hanwell Meadows to @warrenfarmnr.bsky.social. There’s no trace of it now but once train passengers could alight here from Brentford or Southall.
- Wishing a Happy Christmas to all our followers and good fortune in the year ahead. Thanks to your continuing support, we reached the amazing milestone of our 50th year in June. Long may our green spaces thrive - for Wildlife, for Wellbeing, for Everyone.

- As it’s John Clare’s birthday, here’s his homage to long tailed tits or bum-barrels, from his poem “May”. Such a delightful dialect word! “Bum-barrels twit on bush and tree Scarse bigger then a bumble bee And in a white thorn’s leafy rest It builds its curious pudding-nest”
- All the fun of our 50th Anniversary! Here’s more photos from last Sunday. If you came, we’d love to see any pics you’d like to share. The horse… the Morris dancers… Miss Maypole… the Bluebell ladies … weren’t they amazing?
- Luke FitzHerbert’s wife Kay was very much a part of his campaign to create the Brent River Park 50 years ago so it was wonderful that she could be with us to share our celebrations… and some cake!

- In 1975, the opening of the Brent River Park was celebrated with Morris Dancing. 50 years later this chain of parks is the green heart of the borough, a wildlife corridor and a vital floodplain for the River Brent. Come to celebrate its first 50 years this Sunday, 29th June.
- Just in case you’re planning a walk across from Jubilee Meadow to Warren Farm this week, the level crossing over the railway line will be closed this week so you need to enter Warren Farm via the Trumper’s Way crossing.
- Lying on the ground in this photo from 1975 are a collection of way markers made for the new park, with the help of school children. We’d love to hear memories from anyone who helped create these signs or any other stories of those 1975 celebrations.
