- #nowplaying #vinyl Naoki Zushi — ‘Paradise’ Debut solo album from this Zelig of the Japanese underground, whose antics span neo-psyche, indie pop, and noise.
- #nowplaying #vinyl Ghost — ‘Lamarabirabi’
- #nowplaying #postpunk #vinyl Gang of Four — ‘Solid Gold’ I was borderline allergic to post-punk for a while but I seem to be getting back into it. Tasty original Canadian copy.
- #mowplaying #jazz #vinyl Herbie Hancock — ‘Crossings’ Was looking for a Herbie album similar to ‘Sextant’ and found this.
- #nowplaying #vinyl Sleaford Mods — ‘SPECTRE’ If you don’t know these pre-‘Austerity Dogs’ Mods albums, I cannot recommend this one highly enough. Intense af.

- This just arrived in the mail. Love that these early Sleaford Mods albums are finally available on vinyl, in what seem to be semi-official editions. I could only get them mail order, which is normally a no-no with shipping costs to Canada. So, I just got my favourite for now.
- ‘SPECTRE’ includes ‘Double Diamond’, which is my favourite Sleaford Mods song. Apparently, they’ve reprised it for their new album. Haven’t heard that yet, but here’s the original. youtu.be/0ibnd31d_EM?...
- #nowplaying #prog #vinyl Van Der Graaf Generator — ‘Godbluff’ Fans of The Fall may find the cover design oddly familiar. Mark E. Smith knew the score. #hammillisgod. And ‘Arrow’ is one of the most monstrous of monster jams.
- Reposted by Realm of Dusk#nowplaying #vinyl The Bug — ‘London Zoo’ Three LPs of insanely heavy beats. A classic.

- #nowplaying #ecm #jazz #vinyl The Gary Burton Quintet with Eberhard Weber — ‘Ring’ Step 19 in my #ecmodyssey is ECM 1051. Yep, I found it! Luckily, it was in the first overflow crate I Inspected. Not a big Burton fan, tbh, which is why this was in the overflow. But I’m enjoying it a lot, so far.
- #nowplaying #vinyl Michael Mantler — ‘Many Have No Speech’ Another diversion from my #ecmodyssey. This is on WATT, which I’m pretty sure was an ECM sub-label. Came across this and had no memory of owning it. Weird because I know of two other Mantler albums like this that I have.
- Reposted by Realm of DuskIf you don't own a piece of music that Sly Dunbar played on, there's something missing in your life. RIP.
- #nowplaying #vinyl Topdown Dialectic — ‘Vol. 2’ Posted this before and will keep posting it until you all get with the programme. Topdown and the related False Aralia project are low-key the most important electronic music happening right now. A genuinely uncanny and dreamlike take on dub techno.

- #nowplaying #blackmetal #vinyl Agriculture — ‘The Spiritual Sound’ I do not normally buy records by contemporary rock bands but the spiritual sound of the ecstatic black metal group Agriculture is too good to pass up.
- #nowplaying #morningmusic #vinyl Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto with Ensemble Modern — ‘utp_’ You want an album on vinyl for ages. You finally get it. You play it twice and file it. I’ve been trying to dig out those LPs. This glitch classic is definitely one of them.
- Reposted by Realm of Dusk#nowplaying #dub #techno #vinyl Borgesian Term — ‘Borgesian Term’ (False Aralia, False 06) More from False Aralia. Seriously essential for anyone interested in contemporary electronic music.
- #nowplaying #triphop #vinyl Leslie Winer & Jay Glass Dubs — ‘YMFEES’ If you’re not listening to Leslie Winer, you are simply doing it wrong. The title stands for “your mother’s favourite Eazy E song”.
- #nowplaying #ecm #viny Ralph Towner — ‘Solo Concert’ Once again, my #ecmodyssey is derailed, this time by Towner’s passing. Just had to hear this today. Fond memories of finding it at Flashback in Crouch End. I’ll get back to my chronological ECM listen-through, once I locate that Burton/Weber LP.
- Just ordered a record from Discogs for the first time in ages. Normally, the shipping to Canada makes it impossible. But I had to get this Sleaford Mods reissue. www.discogs.com/release/3390...

- Pick up the nearest book. Turn to page 42, post the second sentence. “Wind and cold and violent exercise had turned his face crimson.”
- Reposted by Realm of Dusk#nowplaying #prog #vinyl Peter Hammill — ‘All That Might Have Been’ Finally playing the last of the records I bought in Japan. Was saving this to slot it into my project of playing all my Hammill albums in chronological order. This one is legitimately excellent. A real late-period highlight.
- #nowplaying #japanesemusic #vinyl Ghost — ‘Ghost’ The good Ghost. The Japanese one. If you’re a fan of Kikagaku Moyo, you’re going to be delighted to discover their most obvious precursor.

- Reposted by Realm of Dusk#nowplaying #jazz #vinyl Karin Krog — ‘We Could Be Flying’ One of those records that is inexplicably not on ECM. Hanukkah gift from my in-laws.
- Pretty good audience video of My Bloody Valentine playing 'Thorn' at Wembley Arena. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag9L...
- Reposted by Realm of Dusk#nowplaying #prog #vinyl Van Der Graaf Generator — ‘Recorded Live in Concert at Metropolis Studios, London’ This one rocks. Immediately my fave 21st-century VDGG thing.
- Agriculture in Vancouver was one of the best live shows I went to last year. If anything, this set for KEXP is even better. Absolutely staggering. #blackmetal #heavymetal www.youtube.com/watch?v=G26K...
- My #ecmodyssey may be slightly delayed because I thought the ol' collection included a copy 'Ring' by Gary Burton and Eberhard Weber, but cannot find it. Either I never had it, or misfiled it, or sold it, or it's in the (unsorted) overflow closet. All are quite possible.
- Reposted by Realm of DuskSame here. Ralph Towner was amazing.
- Reposted by Realm of DuskSad news. Ralph Towner was one of the best to ever pick up a guitar.
- Reposted by Realm of DuskRalph Towner, what a great loss. Rest in peace. Yes, I am going to play Solstice in his honor. I need more of his albums as bandleader.
- Reposted by Realm of DuskRIP Ralph Towner Source: Wikipedia. Ralph Towner (March 1, 1940 – January 18, 2026) was an American musician, composer, arranger, and bandleader. He played the twelve-string guitar, classical guitar, piano, synthesizer, percussion, trumpet, and French horn.

- R.I.P. To the great Ralph Towner. Another ECM legend I will never get to see live. 😿 www.nytimes.com/2026/01/18/a...
- #nowplaying #ambient #vinyl Rafael Toral — ‘Wave Field’ As I understand it, this is essentially Toral’s tribute to My Bloody Valentine. Everybody should do an MBV tribute album.
- #nowplaying #postrock #vinyl Flying Saucer Attack — ‘Chorus’ In my mind, this album (which is really an odds-and-ends comp) bridges a gap between the lofi space rock of early FSA and the more electronic post-rock of the later stuff.
- #nowplaying #ambient #vinyl Paul Schütze — ‘The Annihilating Angel’ I’ve seen this guy’s work described as ‘tribal’. I’ve heard him called ‘the Miles Davis of ambient’. Maybe the most accurate comparison is to Jon Hassell. But honestly, there’s nothing quite like Schütze’s classic 90s albums.
- #nowplaying #4ad #vinyl His Name is Alive — ‘Livonia’ Given the awesome but obscure albums @beggarsgroup.bsky.social has reissued on vinyl, I think we’re due a major HNiA reissue series.
- Reposted by Realm of Dusk#nowplaying #triphop #vinyl Leslie Winer — ‘When I Hit You, You’ll Feel It’ An androgynous supermodel invented trip-hop and nobody noticed. And it still feels like nobody cares. Anyway, I’m a fan. Imagine a kind of laconically stoned version of Sleaford Mods. No, really.
