- Every time we see one of those posts about people getting really into AI companions we get this horrible pit in our stomach.
- While the sentiment is clearly heartfelt and we think it's not wrong, it belies that this would have been equally true at every point in American history (at least as long as we don't treat the harms right now as special only because Trump does them).

- I think we need to stop "just asking questions" and say what we mean: the NYT editorial board either does not care about racism as long as it serves their purposes or is itself deeply racist. There is no other way. You don't accidentally lazy journalism yourself into this as *the NYT editors!*
