A dime that's top of the line. Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell. Last of the trans cis girls. They don't love you like I love you. She/Her. violetallen.love
- It turns out I got the days of the week wrong and it had only been five days so good news! time is moving normally and I will never die.
- Just found out how big Westeros is supposed to be lol
- Remember when we thought that video of Trump paying adult women to pee on a bed would be enough to bring him down?
- Having to take a medicine daily: a drumbeat in the symphony of life; a moment of self-care. Having to take a medicine monthly: a beautiful ritual; an encounter with the moon goddess. Having to take a medicine weekly: A horrifying reminder that time is passing too fast and that one day I will die.
- I try to think well of people and trust that they are engaging in just world-type defensiveness to make themselves feel better about how we are surrounded by people doing awful things behind closed doors but a lot of times it feels like people just want an excuse to pat themselves on the back.
- Joss Whedon weeping when he hears "ni howdy" like Salieri listening to Mozart
- I keep seeing discussions of whether you can predict JK Rowling's transphobic turn from Harry Potter. Personally, I think you can predict her being a close-minded herd follower in like a generic way but not that she would become the primary funder and spokesperson for an international hate movement.
- My mom's dog sleeps in my room now and I discovered last night that she absolutely does not fuck with Sleigh Bells at all.
- a big boat (evil)
- If you really want to get into it, depicting Greek mythological characters with an ethnicity appealing to the culture retelling the story rather than what would be historically accurate is the most traditional, conservative thing you can do. Literally a 2000+ year tradition.
- Those guys are racist. Like, you don't need to argue with them about Greek mythology. They are mad because they want to demean Black women. Last week they were saying that God loves pretty white women more than Black women and that disagreeing with that is Satanic.
- I forgot JK Rowling said that shit about Lolita. Fucking bananas.
- Gaiman defenders are willfully ignoring the fact that even if somehow all the victims were lying and there was a grand conspiracy against him, the portrait painted by what he admits to doing is still really fucking bad.
- Oh hey it's the substack that appears in your mentions if you or one of your commenters say the word "Gaiman" like fucking Candlejack. Very reputable.

- I am not an "I told you so" person and I hate trying to score points on people with old grievances, but the contrast between what some people are saying now and what they were saying leading up to the 2024 election is really pissing me off.

- Honestly I can imagine a few countries doing this in the same way that a few countries accept crypto as legal tender i.e. some AI company pays them off.
- Once again thinking about doing this.
- I don't think I will never not find it weird how people use the language of radicalism and hating liberalism to describe being a democratic socialist. Like, the ship has kind of sailed, I guess, and there's no point in arguing, but it's weird.
- Genuinely considering starting a newsletter discussing how to read the classics in an aesthetic, "this shit is dope" way and not a tedious eat your vegetables/glaze old civilizations way. I'm seeing a lot of the latter lately and it is irritating me a lot.
- Reposted by violet allenI need people to understand that it’s not just Epstein, it’s the entire rape culture that existed before and after him at every socioeconomic level. That’s why Epstein, who I’ve never thought was particularly smart or interesting, was able to pull this all off—he recognized how abuse functions

- I really don't think "protests that don't achieve concrete policy changes are stupid and pointless and reveal the hollowness of the movement that organizes them" is really a position the American Left should stake out.
- Reposted by violet allenNGL this description of Bsky in Vulture cracked me up
- I never really understood why so many people were so committed to Chomsky.
- I don't what it says about me that my first thought when I saw that article about students not watching Jules and Jim all the way through was, "But Jules and Jim is so exciting!"
- The upside to how my brain works is that there is a huge trove of cultural references swirling around in there at all times that I can easily pull from to seem witty and cultured. The bad side is I am unable to control it and so every time I see Bari Weiss's name I get Edelweiss stuck in my head.
- It's very strange (and terrible) how post-WWII culture makes more sense now living through the current moment. Like yeah, of course you guys were obsessed with psychoanalysis, society nearly got destroyed by a bunch of weirdo death-daddy perverts. I get it. I'm reading up a bit myself.
- I know I probably like subtext and negative space too much but I am begging SF writers and editors to allow for a little subtlety and mystery.
- Twice now a friend I haven't talked to in a while has told me that they saw this post out in the wild. Apparently it's lighting up the group chats and private Discords. The people love subcultural observational humor.
