- Don't worry, just our fabulous and wonderful Secretary of State for Health & Social Care singling out trans women for segregation from wider society. No biggie.
- Streeting had an interview with the founder of Mumsnet archive.ph/Ys6u4
- Listening to the Nolan Show this morning because clearly I'm a glutton for punishment. Just think it's really fascinating how differently Stephen & guests speak about trans people versus how they speak about Bailey the dog. That dog has been humanised more than the entire trans community.
- Just goes to show, I suppose, how far down the rabbit hole we are when a conversation about a dog in prison garners more sympathy and less need for "balance" than one about an entire marginalised community who weren't invited on to speak for themselves.

A huge thank you to the businesses who have rallied round to clean up the mess. The lesson for these bigots, Pride goes on. We’ve dealt with your shit for far too long.
- Since I posted this fundraiser two days ago on my 10 year tranniversary I've raised over half my original goal of £15k. I never expected it to go this well or to get this much support from, frankly, extremely generous queers. If you can donate or share, it is greatly appreciated. gofund.me/3cb0b03e
- Anyone who has transitioned privately will know that £15k, while a life-changing start, certainly won't be the end of the road. Certain gender affirming surgeries alone can cost upwards of that. If I think I might hit the target (which, honestly, I never thought I would) it might shift up a bit!

- I decided to fundraise now, honestly, in the wake of the FWS judgment. Things are just getting so much worse, and it is getting harder to do public campaigning and advocacy on trans rights and as a trans woman. It takes a toll and, to be blunt, it would be easier if I wasn't also so dysphoric.
- I've decided to bite the bullet and just do it, because ten years in things should really be in a different place for me and for any trans person. If we don't do it ourselves, who on earth will do it for us. So there. Any donations or shares greatly appreciated x
- This was an extremely fun and interesting discussion to record on my bank holiday Monday. We got deep into the weeds on some of these issues in a way that I don't often get the opportunity to in the media. Give it a listen if you're not sick of listening to me harping on about thon transgenders

- Reposted by Alexa (dot) MooreThere's a line connecting Hunt's NI cuts and the electoral system for mayoral races and the BBC management and the EHRC. The Starmer/McSweeney theory of politics just isn't interested in naming, let alone undoing, Tory institutional capture
- Reposted by Alexa (dot) MooreIt is this, not arguing, but also this Labour party has been strikingly reluctant to occupy the commanding heights of the discourse. The last government made a bunch of attempts to embed right wing bias in institutions and processes; this government is content to leave them all in place.

- It's been clear to see the direction of travel we're heading towards around trans people's ability to live free from prejudice and discrimination in the UK Stormont parties must step up and outline what they are going to do to protect trans people right now. m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/norther...
- I've gotten lots of lovely messages from politicians from different parties, and I do greatly appreciate them. But what we need now is action, because this hostility will not end until people stand up to it. The time for sitting on your hands and saying "Westminster made me do it" is long gone.
- It's been a pretty harrowing week. I've been directly - let's be real, deliberately - misgendered on live radio. I've had a call from my boss this morning making me promise to not look at the comments on that article. Ever wonder why you never see trans people in media? We're met with vitriol.

- Reposted by Alexa (dot) MooreTentative First Thought - Today's UKSC ruling in For Women Scotland divides UK jurisdictions - the Equality Act doesn't apply in NI and trans people in NI have protections under some EU law (applicable through Art 2 Windsor Framework) which does grant trans people protections based on sex.

- Involving affected communities in strategies that impact their lives isn't 'outsourcing', it's good governance. It's the very essence of the social INCLUSION strategies. But Gordon has made his views on social inclusion clear by refusing to meet anyone who doesn't align with his worldview.
- You're in the News Letter today @elainecrory.bsky.social @alexadotm.bsky.social
- Also lol at the framing of organisations which primarily exist to support our communities and mitigate for the utter failings of his department. Of course, in the same breath, the article seeks to legitimise a group established with the aim of undermining and eliminating the rights of trans people.

- If you're a cis ally and you're *not* following this case... you should be. This woman is being harassed in a court of law, repeatedly misgendered & called a man to her face by an opposing lawyer. This is completely fine to the judge. I truly don't know how she copes. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- All because she used the women's changing rooms (as, créid nó ná créid, she has the right to do) and someone else made a complaint. Now the complainant deems it necessary - and is being given significant leeway and platform - to harass and abuse her both in court and through the sympathetic media.
- Just leaving this here with a completely unrelated quote "Identity denial is a genocidal tactic aimed at vanquishing what is believed to be an evil, existential, and inherently criminal foe and it always results in mass atrocity if it is not nipped in the bud." bsky.app/profile/hlee...

- Well it's quite telling that the small amount of evidence they released (for the temporary ban mind you) is just "Cass said so". But ah well. It never fails to surprise me how far the window has shifted in terms of reporting on trans people, though... m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/health/...
- "children experiencing gender dysphoria— the belief that a person may have been born in the wrong gender." This is patently not what dysphoria is. It is not a 'belief' that young people have. It is a physical and emotional distress that they experience, and that puberty blockers can help alleviate.
- But it's much easier to, in the process of dehumanising and delegitimising the experiences of trans communities, to dismiss our lived reality, our distress, our identities, as mere 'beliefs'.

Have a word with Streeting, who was in the media kissing up to Musk the same day. 2. Look at your own government's record towards minorities and stop copying the same playbook.
