Kelderman, right! I always kind of forget about him 🙈 But Sepp will have to go, won't he? Otherwise it's looking a little "thin" in the climbing squad..
Tulett could do the Giro-Vuelta. And he has the right size bike and seems to become a stronger climber.
Got to think in his first year trying for a GC GT, they're not doubling up on GT's with him, unless they feel they need him in the Tour.
I'm assuming Kuss doubles Giro-Tour, otherwise they would've announced him for the Vuelta. Piganzoli is confirmed, and I guess you send Lemmen and Kelderman both.
If Kuss goes, I think it's fine. But if neither Kuss nor Tulett goes, I'm a little scared 😂
Yates did them wrong, imo. Maybe I’ll learn more someday and re-think if, but for now I view the whole thing as pretty shitty.
If his heart isn't in it, his heart isn't in it. You can't do topsport at 50% effort. There is no sense in Yates having a season like Thomas did last season. That would be virtually as useful as not showing up, and you 'd have to pay him a lot of money on top of that.
Jan 13, 2026 17:44Yes, but there is little chance he came to that decision so late and all at once. I just went through this in my career - teaching, which also operates on annual contracts - and imo it is incumbent on retirees to take that step responsibly.Short of a health issue, he should have told them sooner.
