- 😭 How to neutralize a tear gas canister.😭 Pour water around the canister to help seal the base of a traffic cone used to contain it. Then douse it from the top and cover it. DON'T PICK THEM UP unless you have welder's gloves. Cannisters can reach temperatures as high as 1,400°F.
