- Reposted by PF AndersonThe morning after mass layoffs, The Washington Post publishes this as their lead editorial. The owner and publisher clearly have no idea why they are losing subscribers. Meanwhile they have destroyed a storied brand. Support independent media. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

- Reposted by PF AndersonA deaf teen was violently detained by ICE for not “following orders”. He couldn’t hear their orders. They denied him an interpreter. Denied him accommodations. This is who they are. They target the disabled because eugenics and fascism go hand in hand.
- “Police officers don’t wear masks. Sheriffs don’t wear masks. State troopers don’t wear masks. There’s no justification for the manner in which ICE is conducting itself in terms of masks,” Jeffries said www.pbs.org/newshour/sho...
- Reposted by PF AndersonThe CIA just stopped publishing their World Factbook and took every page, including the archived copies of previous versions! This sucks. It was public domain, so I recovered the 2020 edition (the last one published as a zip file) and shared it to GitHub simonwillison.net/2026/Feb/5/t...

- Reposted by PF AndersonI think the #1 thing people who aren't freelance reporters don't understand about freelance reporting is how laughably bad the pay rate/hours worked is – you can pitch many publications and get published, make a few hundred bucks. But to earn a living wage requires hours that do not exist in a day.
- Reposted by PF Anderson2 weeks ago, the El Paso Medical Examiner ruled the death of a Cuban ICE detainee a homicide. This time, when a 32-year-old Nicaraguan man died, ICE bypassed the county medical examiner in favor of a military facility. They won’t publicly release a ruling. www.texastribune.org/2026/02/03/t...
- Reposted by PF AndersonThis is a deeply important piece. "A tool meant to make D.M.V. data sharing frictionless for law enforcement agencies also acts like a privacy Trojan horse, because agencies don’t need just cause or a warrant to look at it."

- Reposted by PF AndersonI don’t know that I ever did, so I’m not giving myself retroactive glory here, but I wish when I’ve been asked that the 10 millionth time, “can we separate the art from the artist”, I wish I had replied, “why is that desirable?”

- Reposted by PF AndersonA painting you loved at 20, you might not care about at 50, even if you never find out anything bad! WE change. The world changes. More than ever, that question (to me) is tiring, it's ...whatever. It's for others. I'm interested in changing cultural & creative norms to prevent abuse & disrespect.
- Reposted by PF AndersonSubconscious theory "if terrible people make art, it can only be terrible," that's not how it works. Sometimes in the art there is true catharsis & person is good. Other times, veiled confessions & manipulation. We can only know the difference by truly listening & respecting those around the artist.
- Reposted by PF AndersonIf you try to be authentically yourself with everyone, it's hard to accept how well others can compartmentalize. To know that they are, like many abusive narcissists, inside a bulletproof prison of their own self-pity & self-regard. They count on & cultivate our inability to see their other selves.

Agents fired at least ten shots in roughly five seconds. DHS and Pam Bondi claim Pretti approached them armed and intent on a “massacre.”
