- Today's #diecast #DeskCars is four of the Matchbox 1998 Police 5-Pack. I'm considering making them #Gaslands Roadshow Live official vehicles. Though, I'm undecided on keeping this color and deco or making it the gray and orange official colors of #GRL.
- Two things occurred to me as I prepped for the next playtest of the #Gaslands demo. First, this is not going to work. Second, I need to build more monster trucks. Like one for each Sponsor. Only Beverly, Rusty's and Order of the Inferno are represented here.
- Looks like in Turn 2, Gear Phase 4, Fish Tank is going to swim away with the win! The other three competitors each wiped out smashing into one another coming out of the Floop. With all their rivals in the rear view, Fish Tank punched it up to fifth Gear with nothing but daylight ahead! #Gaslands
- Went back to the #diecast shop because I left behind a car that I needed. While there, I dug through the loose bin, I haven't seen a Silver Bullet (aka Aeroflash) before. Got it home and looked it up on the Wiki to find that it's exclusive to a Highway 35 World Race track set. It's very cool
- Today's #diecast is a two-fer of the '64 Lincoln Continental, the Hot Wheels 2023 HW Slammed and the Matchbox 2025 MBX Showroom releases. You can really see the differences in design philosophy between the two companies here. They are both great castings and have excellent details.
- Today's #diecast #DeskCar is the Hot Wheels '90 Mazda MX-5 Miata (2025 HW Dream Garage). This car is the winner of the 2023 Hot Wheels Legends Tour and is named "The Chimera". It was built by Chris Watson of Tofu Auto Works in New Zealand. It's a great casting and has solid #Gaslands vibes.
- A lot of my playtesting ended up very same-y same-y and after getting some feedback, I realized that the cause was the narrowness of the track. I opened it up some and added length towards Gate 1. That first turn is still fairly tight, but the second is pretty open! #Gaslands #diecast #nerdlings
- #Gaslands gets my mind racing, when I should be sleeping. Finalized the track course for the demo, it's a "P" rather than an "X". Took a few rounds of playtesting as a new player might play. But, if I'm being honest, what did it for me was coming up with names for the parts of the course.
- Today's #diecast #DeskCar is the Hot Wheels '80 Mazda RX-7 (2024 HW First Response). Another member of the Miyzaki team, "KYT0". This deco is definitely a keeper as it looks like it just leapt off the pages of a racing manga.
- Took a break from playtesting and terrain building to explore some high flying concept builds. The Morgan Super-3 and the Indycar feel lightweight enough as gyrocopters. And the Final Faction flying platform makes a good base for the Martian Racing Federation. #Gaslands #diecast #nerdlings

- Today's #diecast #DeskCar is the Hot Wheels Mazda RX-3 (2025 Peak Pursuit). This is one of the cars for my Miyazaki team. The plan is to keep the original paintjob and Japanese deco, but paint manga/anime style elements.
- Gate pillar markers and tank traps. The markers are removable and I'm thinking about building billboards as another option for the pillars. I thought to make tank traps because I've got so many spare sprues. Also, I needed smaller destructible obstacles.
- Can you wipeout and then flip your way across the FINISH? Cause that's what the CAR-nivore just did, I think.
- Just can't stay away from the hobby desk, even when playtesting. Built some caps for the gate pillars. These are starting lights, they are removable. Going to do some number flags next. Cut up sprues to make tank traps. This one feels a little small though.

- Time for another episode of why am i awake? I need to keep the cars from rolling in the #Gaslands demo. Don't want to glue the wheels because it's a diecast meet and rolling wheels is important. Considering either using blue tack in a discrete location or using a square of fabric as a playmat.
- Playtest one turn. Got up to Gear Phase 4. I'll have to make the turns a bit wider, it got very tight. Might even need to expand the "square" in the center a touch, if there's enough room on the table. Good playtest, I remembered more than I had thought I would. #Gaslands #diecast #nerdlings

- Doing goofy shit like this makes me ridiculously happy. Using the Hot Wheels Fast-Bed Hauler (2025 HW Gassers 5-Pack), some Lego and a basic D6 as the Gear Phase tracker.
