- We have a short science communication paper for kids in Frontiers for Young Minds about subduction zones and IODP Expedition 405. @txgeosciences.bsky.social @ecord.bsky.social @ukiodp.bsky.social @stoczko.bsky.social kids.frontiersin.org/articles/10....
- Short comic/photo dump about the borehole observatory from IODP3 Expedition 502e. 1/3 #Chikyu #IODP #502e #JTRACK @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Another photo dump from Chikyu. 1 - Nice weather from a day ago 2 - Strong winds and rain from today 3 - Some work for the next expedition. Here is looking at sonar data... 4 - Rat-tail fish having a party at 5.5 km (they were just curious about the drill pipe/underwater TV light, we think)

- I'm on Chikyu again for IODP Expedition 502e. We're here to retrieve, maintain, reprogram, redeploy the thermistors from two borehole observatories from last year. We managed to retrieve, connect to all 185 sensors to download data from the past year and re-program. @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Here is a leftover comic from the #IODP Expedition 405 from last year. This one covers the borehole observatories. Bonus photo from the first installation attempt! #comic @ecord.bsky.social @anzic.bsky.social @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Here is a leftover comic from the #IODP Expedition 405 from last year. This one covers IODP core centers~ Bonus images are snapshots from the Gulf Coast Core Core Repository (GCR). #comic @ecord.bsky.social @anzic.bsky.social @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Here is a leftover comic from the #IODP Expedition 405 from last year. This one is about sampling parties! #comic @ecord.bsky.social @anzic.bsky.social @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Here is a leftover comic from the #IODP Expedition 405 from last year. This one is based on @callanbentley.bsky.social's spaghetti noodle analogy to convey the depth we had to reach. #comic @ecord.bsky.social @anzic.bsky.social @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Here is a leftover comic from the #IODP Expedition 405 from last year. This one is about LWD (which gave me PTSD from my time with Schlumberger). #comic @ecord.bsky.social @anzic.bsky.social @txgeosciences.bsky.social @utgeophysics.bsky.social
- Here is a leftover comic from the #IODP Expedition 405 from last year. This one is about the broad goal of the expedition (and subduction zones). #comic @ecord.bsky.social @anzic.bsky.social @txgeosciences.bsky.social
- Last photo dump from earlier this month. 1 - The long walk on the Dungeness Spit. 2 - The lighthouse. 3 - Jonathan on the light tower. 4 - On the flight back home, I think I took a snapshot of Mount Adams (foreground), Mount Hood (mid-ground), and Mount Jefferson (in the far distance). 🌋
- More photos from early June from North Bend~ 1 - Went to Washington after Juneau. Jonathan climbed and I shortroped (and worried). 2 - More climbers on Little Si. 3 - We stayed with uncle Dave and Sue (and PeeWee)! 4 - From a glorious long walk in North Bend.
- More May photos from Alaska!
- More photos from late April/early May: Austria travels for EGU. Semmering hike and mostly Vienna memories.
- Welp. I disassociated and now it’s June. I’ll share some photos and comics from April & May in a way to not feel bad about suddenly realizing half the year disappeared. April was a lot of Texas travel. One of the trips was for the College Station, to the Gulf Coast Core Repository (GCR).
