- Some genuine progress on Fancy Falls characters this week, plus a great new show I missed from 2023, Mrs Davis. Didn't get on with Things You Should Have Done (ha, it means two things), but found new comfort in Star Trek DS9. Let's TV! filmboyslim.substack.com/p/fancy-fall...

- Life and death got in the way of actual writing this week, but there's still plenty going on in Fancy Falls. Rather loved A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, The Holdovers and Sinners, all for very different reasons. Let me know what you watched! filmboyslim.substack.com/p/fancy-fall...

- With most psychedelic drugs, you never know what you're going to get. But this mysterious mushroom from China - without fail - causes users to hallucinate tiny people: crawling up walls, popping out from under furniture and marching under doors. www.bbc.com/future/artic...

- Episode 3 of Starfleet Academy tonight, and I'm excited. Nice to have a solid new sci-fi show to look forward to.
- Fancy Falls needs some characters, so I'm working out who I want to steal! In terms of watching we've got Starfleet Academy, Can You Keep A Secret, Do Not Adjust Your Set and the rather excellent NZ horror comedy Housebound on iPlayer. filmboyslim.substack.com/p/fancy-fall...

- From my admission this week that I never got into DS9, I'm looking for help charting the shortest path of episodes to watch to get the experience! Can you help me do justice to DS9 in the fewest episodes??

- I do highly recommend this film I found while scrolling through films on iPlayer, really balanced the horror and comedy very well!
- Just watched the rather nifty little New Zealand horror comedy Housebound: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00248vd This was a rare occasion of a trawl through streaming services for something new to watch really working out!

- A Christmas present biography is helping me get back to silliness and comedy writing. It also inspired me to repurchase DVDs that I lent to a work friend and never saw again. That was after I left, briefly, for Australia. 17 years ago. 17 years before that I was 7 and found Python too childish.
