Ok but this one is practically guaranteed to be Yuna bc I can't think of another summoner with actual characterization lol
Garnet/Dagger and Eiko from FF9, Rydia from 4, all the characters from FF13 are technically summoners as is Clive from 16 (the summons are tied to them mechanically and story-wise), there are a bunch of those. I mean, they may not be necessarily good, but properly characterized at least.
I'll grant you Rydia (and I never played 9 lol) but if everyone in 13 ans 16 are summoners, I feel like that kind of means none of them are lol
If you are thinking in terms of party roles and "the team's summoner", that's pretty fair.
I was thinking more along the lines of "canon summoners", if the story recognizes them as such and is a relevant facet for the characters (otherwise, games with job systems would make everyone a summoner too)
