Neo Magnus
Mostly painting BattleTech minis. Sometimes they even look good.

- A couple works in-progress from the mini mines. First I've converted a Bolt Action Sherman V to use a tesla canon and will be adding a mine flail to make a Crab. Second and third are undead from Bleak Falls Barrow. Fourth, a Grey Knights Apothecary to go with a Redemptor Dreadnought I was gifted.
- New work in progress, took some creative liberties with this #battletch Clan Sea Fox Skate Khanate star. After my Christmas vacation I'll see if I can't cut them off of their bases so I can make appropriately maritime bases for these glorified merchant marines.
- Typically, I keep my mech painting to BattleTech, but I recently put together this Linebacker Jump Walker from Konflict '47. Doing a USMC camo scheme for this guy and (eventually) the Firefly jump troops. Tried a bunch of new techniques on this guy, and I'm happy how it turned out.
- Me and the boys on the way to gallantly fight so our liege lord can gift his wife the entire Capellan Confederation as a dowry (we will die horribly on some backwater planet and be forgotten) #battletech
- Finally based my #battletech Gothic Draconic Imperium lance. Might drybrush again to sell the glowing green effect but otherwise I'm happy with how they turned out.
- When you get a chance to make a mess of the Archon's toys, well. . . Let's just say the Commonwealth can afford to pressure wash the mud and oil away. #battletech
- Trying my hand at painting some #battletech Gothic miniatures. I really liked the look of the Draconic Imperium's Atlas, so I made a lance based on that. I combined the colors from the Sword of Light and the Otomo, which would in theory make this Sorenson's Sabres. Just have to finish the bases now.
- Working on my next group, here's half a #battletech Star League Royal Black Guard lance starring a Mackie. The tartan is pretty difficult but I'm getting the hang of it I think; hopefully the next two 'Mechs improve even more.
- "I am Kai Allard-Liao. I am a killer of men." #battletech
- Work in progress on a #battletech Escorpión Imperio Seeker Galaxy star! Gotta do details on weaponry and such but the brown turned out a lot better than I expected.
- Death from above! Clan Jade Falcon Omega Galaxy march (or jump) their way into the ilClan era and to victory. First attempt at doing #battletech jump jets and at really attempting to do an interesting base. Very happy with the IWM sculpts (except that the Hierofalcon is comically small lol).
- My other recent #battletech WIP, I've done the base work for my FedSuns 2nd Crucis Lancers. Just have to do the details and they'll be good to go.
- First time attempting to paint jump jets on #battletech minis. For this I used the Jade Hawk I have decorated up for my Clan Jade Falcon Omega Galaxy star. Took some creative liberties by also putting red on the hands; it felt appropriate for a melee focused 'Mech.
- Just need to add some minor details and varnish and my #battletech 18th Marik Militia lance will be complete! Debating what color to use for the cockpit canopies but will probably settle on golden yellow or similar. Lots of WIPs but wanted to bang this out while I wait for some materials.
- Mostly finished the #battletech JagerMech for my Rasalhague Second Freemen lance. Looking for some #miniaturepainting advice: how do you guys get yellow paint to lay better and be more opaque? Just more layers? Or should I give the area a base coat in a different color first?
- While I wait to varnish and add shadowed recesses to my Dragonlords, I thought I'd start base coating my next #battletech project. Say hello to half of my Free Rasalhague Republic 2nd Freemen lance. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the next two done and do some detail work.
- More detailing work and basing on my #battletech Second Dragonlords cavalry lance, reborn for the ilClan era. I'll be testing a new way to add definition to the recesses later this week, but for now, this is what we're looking at.
- A bit of a departure from the industrial future where 'Mechs rule the battlefield, soon I'll travel back to 8th century Northymbra with the Burrows & Badgers minis from Oathsworn Games that I got today. Looking forward to a little bit of variety in my mini painting!
- Played a game of #battletech last night with my dad. It was a pretty close duel (especially after my Wolverine ran out of SRM ammo and his Shadowhawk blew off my AC-5), but a well-placed critical hit to explode his ammo ended the long engagement.
- Forgive the low-quality photo, but here's a WiP of some #battletech 'Mechs I'm painting for a modernized FedSuns 2nd Dragonlords lance. Probably gonna work on all of the detailing tonight and call it done if I have the time.

- Built a #battletech Ares (Apollo) for a custom post-Fortress Republic splinter faction I'm theorycrafting (they also get an OSP-26, MAD-8K, and maybe an AS7-D-H). Related, does anyone know of a way to make a marbling effect that doesn't involve an airbrush and a dried baby wipe?
- Power went out in the storms yesterday so I finally sat down and finished a book for the first time in ages. Read the second half of the #battletech Marauder anthology by Lance Scarinci, honestly had a good time reading it. I liked the horror aspect and it gave me some ideas for RPGs and painting.
- Catapult, my beloved. I especially love refitting it with a comical amount of SRMs
- Spent about 5 hours assembling the Iron Wind Metals #battletech Omega superheavy 'Mech this evening. Looking forward to painting it for my WoB lance sometime.
- Whoever chose to put the signs - you know, the big attention-grabbing black signs with glowing orange letters - on the PA Turnpike saying "Don't drive distracted. Stay focused. Stay alive," is truly inspired. Possibly the most counterproductive signs I've ever seen.
- Finally had a nice day to take my #battletech DCMS Second Sword of Light outside to get some photos.
- @catalystgamelabs.bsky.social @battletech.bsky.social If you guys make official Kontio and Hermit Crab minis, my life is yours. It can be metal or plastic I do not care. I have a star and a lance begging for those guys (respectively)
- To live is to serve the Dragon. From the Ghost Bears to Stone's Republic, the Second Sword of Light will crush any enemy Coordinator Kurita demands. #battletech
- Starting my next #battletech project, the Second Sword of Light. Enforcers produced in the wake of the conquest of New Avalon make a fine addition to the lance.
- Assembled my first metal miniature today - a #battletech Revenant UBM-1A from IWM for a Blakist lance I'm building

- Here are the full images of my #battletech Clan Wolverine star. The Huntsman was the first 'Mech I ever painted, and the Turkina came shortly after, before I had really chosen what I wanted to do with it (you can see the Rasalhague Dominion inspiration on the knees).
- Last 'Mech done for this #battletech unit - this Wolverine IIC has seen better days but it still packs a punch. Mostly proud of how it turned out. Will get a group shot of the whole star later.
- When you guys paint up your themed #battletech forcepacks (in this case Snord's Irregulars), do you try to keep those themed 'Mechs together or are you cool with breaking the band up?
