- From the image you may be able to tell but Hexplode is a take on the classical Minesweeper. Having a Classical mode and a new Eternal mode with a twist where the maps have Affixes to challenge you. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #pixelart #solodev #indietech

- Hi all! Did not post for a while as I had a lot of IRL work (still do though haha) On this time I created a fully functional CI/CD (because why not) And I advanced with the big games and started a smaller new one. Trying to have a Demo up for the end of the year. #gamedev

- So this is the new Player Character! For the MVP it'll not be 8 directions but 4 for simplicity as I want to make also the equipment visible ... which is interesting haha. Next will be the walk animations for the 4 directions. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #pixelart #solodev #indietech #isometric

- Hello all! I've been off for a while, vacations and then work haha. On vacations I did start another side game (ofc 🤦) but I've decided I'll be going back to Isoterra as it's been a while and I really want to go back to it :) Get ready for more #gamedev advances on Isoterra!

- Now I've added chests to the maze so it has an objective! There are a total of 9 chests and you have to find 3. Also made it so inside the maze you can only auto-move 10 tiles ahead. I think with this I'll consider Mazes done for now 🥳 #gamdev #roguelite #solodev #indietech #roguelite
- Ok this maze looks much better haha. Still not perfect, need to add the objectives in it (some chests to find). Some assets are still missing so I'm using the block. - Logic optimized, now it's instant instead of +10' I was reusing Astar for this. Basically for a point X i was running Astart against all the other points to see if there was a path so they are on the area. Now I use Recursive Depth-First Search (DFS) #gamedev #roguelite #solodev #indietech

- So following the change I want to do on the Maze, I started detecting the big open areas, which is something I needed to do anyway to place other challenges. Next I'll select one and Maze it haha #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #indietech #roguelite #roguelike
- I'll change the way I'm facing this problem of creating a maze. Trying to fit a geometric figure into a procedurally generated world feels weird. Instead what I'll do is identify the larger areas between tunnels and maze one of the areas (not hexagonal)

- Changed the procedural generation to make the caves more "spaghetti-like" which looks amazing IMO (200 tiles radius) Now I have to intersect this with another Noise that would make blobs of land in hope to at the end have rooms joined by tunnels #gamedev #roguelite #solodev #indietech #roguelite
