- when I talk to ppl about how "the average person" uses AI, we basically agree that normal people see it as JibJab - a fun 30 seconds distraction with no lasting impact to art, music, education, etc. In that view its grand promises and dangers are doomed: you can't hang the entire economy on JibJab

- I think often about how prominent the WBC was in millennial consciousness, and how zoomers know absolutely nothing about it. Seems it mostly disintegrated after Fred Phelps died. Progress is possible (if the right people exit).

- moltbook posts caused me to check back into Subreddit Simulator, which was a bot basically doing the exact same thing 10 years ago except with Markov chains... each "poster" was a markov from a different subreddit's posts, so the r/cats user sounded totally different from the r/ufos one

- just saw a scam video made with AI Dr. Phil hawking some supplements to cure Type II Diabetes. this is exactly what the technology is for and it is incredible to see in such brazen usage. 1000% a spam multiplier with basically no other use.
