- Jeez, even my trusty video games are calling me out
- Video games are alright, yeah.
- Finally! PlayStation has re-added screenshots to its web store. Between that and the user ratings, now barely any need to fire up YouTube in order to start sussing a game out.
- Corner Gas is certainly serving up some decent reaction caps
- Rise of the Ronin deserves 10/10 simply for giving you an equipment bag that has room for 2,000 items.
- I played every Trials game that hit console, but none hit quite so hard as Trials HD on Xbox 360 in 2009. It's the only Trials game where I'd successfully completed one of highest-difficulty tracks.

- I sometimes accidentally click on a voice channel in Discord, and have to immediately close the browser before leaving the country (until things calm down).
- If you tried to explain Vampire Survivors before Vampire Survivors actually came out, imagine the all tutting. People rolling their eyes hard enough to unscrew their face.

- I love the symbolism of press photos of London. Looming monument! Large, shiny, faceless buildings! Anonymous silhouettes! Actual people still live here, of course. GYAC, there's a Boots just on the left, and just behind you is great underground M&S (although closed for refurb until March, boo!)

- The greatest achievement in product placement in all of cinema must surely be the ubiquitous nature of the Uzi in 80s movies. It's a gun I've never seen used or mentioned beyond this context* yet there's an average of 12 people dual-wielding them per film.
- me at parties
- The 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 is certainly accomplished, but fell flat for me due to it feeling so relentlessly action-based. Basically 12 hours of shooting scampering mannequins, that ultimately muscled many other sensations out of the picture.

- The cold snap over Christmas plus illness at the start of January means my beard has grown into unacceptable territory, leaving me sat here looking like a scarecrow that's just discovered time travel.

- The lid of the kettle no longer detaches, so I have to fill it through the spout, also the water-level thingy no longer works so you have to wave the kettle about and judge how sloshy it sounds. I am ready for war.

- 2025 was the year I discovered Julio Torres, a beautiful interdimensional whisperer of a comedian. Started with recent HBO series Fantasmas, but his other, older show Los Espookys is equally worth your time. Not to mention 2019 special, My Favorite Shapes: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLRw...

- Nighty night, Anthem, whose servers close today. A game whose upsides took me pretty close to the platinum a few years back, but just didn't have the juice to tempt me through that final grind.
- Big shout for Midnight Diner, one of my favourite shows I watched last year - if anything, it gets better beyond season 1, as it stops trying to fit such broad arcs of drama into 25-minute slots.
- Midnight Diner available on Netflix is beautiful, haunting, affecting. Subtitles not dubbing. Poetry of the city from a great Japanese director. www.netflix.com/watch/80113542

- I didn't mean to watch Corner Gas back-to-back with Northern Exposure, but now seem to be caught in a North American gentle-off.

- I couldn't care less for Stranger Things, but am oddly into the knock-offs I keep finding on my console travels
