Joshua Solomon
Frequently jaded and occasionally jolly. Big fan of dad rock. Sometimes fan of dad cinema.
- In mourning. Please give me some space.
- Reposted by Joshua SolomonJust staggered by the complete moral void of not even *pretending* to wait for more information before pivoting to “the opponent of the state deserved it.” It is so insanely depraved. Soulless.
- It's easy to mock, but having seen all of them, I actually have F1 at #6 on my Best Picture Rankings. Very good crowdpleaser with incredibly exciting racing scenes.
- You could say that performance stands tall even in the great ensemble. I gently kid. Great movie.
- Reposted by Joshua SolomonYou should be embarrassed to be a member of congress and issuing anything other than impeachment resolutions. You're in the model UN. They should give you legos and a propeller hat

- Dum Dum Girls were a great band. One of the best indie rock bands of the late 00s/early 10s. Forgot about their Smiths cover. #xpncountdown
- Britney Spears' take on "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" is both (1) not my thing and (2) exactly the kind of curveball I want during a one vote wonders morning show. #xpncountdown
- Original Leonard Cohen "Hallelujah" = best "Hallelujah" #xpncountdown
- Reposted by Joshua SolomonI want to thank all of the @wxpnfm.bsky.social staff for all of the hard work they put into the countdown this year and every year. We love you!!! Let’s make sure these things keep happening! Donate to WXPN, become a member! #XPNCountdown
- Tina just makes "Proud Mary" her own. Not on my list, but happy it made the top 15. #xpncountdown

- Barring a miracle I'm at 8/10. Few vocal performances are as powerful as Charles Bradley here. Floored every time. #xpncountdown
- My #4. Are Sonic Youth among the original poptimists? I find their version of "Superstar" totally heartbreaking. #xpncountdown
- Love when Social D does covers. Self-titled album from 1990 is still extremely underrated. #xpncountdown
- Very supportive of this surprise (at least at this placement) appearance of Toots & The Maytals' "Take Me Home, Country Roads." #xpncountdown

- Don't like their music very much, but I have lots of respect for UB40. Found their niche, kept at it, and made bank. #xpncountdown
- Nice conversation leading into a great cover. #xpncountdown

- "Hound Dog" being down at 89 is among my biggest placement shocks so far #xpncountdown
- Wasn't sure this Isley Brothers cover of "Summer Breeze" was going to make it. Incredible, expansive magic. #XPNCountdown
- Faith No More's "Easy" was definitely an 11 for me. Unexpected, offbeat, but not mocking. #xpncountdown
- Happy "The Tide is High" made it up to 112. Was worried people didn't know this was a cover. #xpncountdown

- The placement of Marvin Gaye's version of "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" at 149 is shocking. People must not know it's a cover. Using that logic, I think Aretha's "Respect" misses the top 25. #xpncountdown #possiblyfoolishprediction
- My #1! Blondie's "Hanging on the Telephone" is the platonic ideal of driving, rock music. #xpncountdown
