- EU Healthy Air Coalition (EUHAC) brings together non-profit health expert voices in the EU advocating for better health for all. 🏭 🚗🐄 Air Pollution is Europe’s biggest environmental threat to health, linked to all major diseases and harmful even at low levels.
- 👶 👨 👩 We are all affected by pollluted air, but pregnant people, children, elderly, those with pre-existing health conditions and socio-economic disadvantages face the greatest risks. 💵 Hundreds of billions of euros annually in health care, lost productivity, and reduced quality of life in Europe.
- What needs to happen? EU and national decision makers should: 💡 Accelerate the binding pace of emissions reduction 💡 Introduce binding methane emissions reduction targets 💡 End subsidies for fossil fuels and ammonia emitting practices 💡 Remove “renewable” label from biomass
