Lets be very clear, the ONLY reason the government is banning social media for under 16s is to attempt to curb the Greens' popularity among young voters at the next election.

And it's horrible, but those kids died because their parents failed them, in a society and culture that failed the parents as human beings.

I think unfettered internet access is a problem. No doubt.
It needs addressing. No doubt.
But this is the exact action you would take to curb influence over a broad demographics media intake rather than reduce the amount of harmful media intake the demographic is exposed to.
Think about it.
