- Highly, highly important, inflexible Japanese->English translation rule dealing with any game-themed text: ステータス: Stat(s) 状態: Status The top is numerical attributes; the bottom is whether a party-member is poisoned or asleep The top is literally "status" in katakana, but that's a trap
- Translating the bottom more literally as "condition" is also a trap. That's a whole other English-language RPG phrase that gets used for ancillary attributes Early English RPGs wrote the legislation for this and Pokemon ratified it as a constitutional amendment. Do not violate the law
