- The Flamethrower continues to carry me in #MENACE
- This is so incredibly dumb. 1) All games have peaks/dips based on time of day. 2) Player concurrents is a terrible metric for singleplayer ARPGs. (Also the game is probably bigger on console than PC) 3) Even reaching 75k on launch day is a huge achievement and speaks to the game's success.
- New video style - where I give some first impressions in the form of the good, the bad & the ugly for Nioh 3! #nioh #nioh3 #soulslike youtu.be/taWsW89x4BQ
- I'm not surprised Ashes of Creation fell apart. I followed the project for a long time but I was always disliked the focus on selling "alpha access" and such. Plus, making a spiritual successor to ArcheAge is a huge ask given the size of the world, and the freedom players have within it.
- Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college: 1) Music History 2) Medieval English Literature 3) Climate Science 4) Game Programming in Flash (I even made a little 1-level game as a project) 5) Criminology

- New video is up going over the games I played in January 2026. #games #gaming #promosky youtu.be/Iu_IwmAb0mE
- I did it, Ball X Pit 100%.
- I put out a post on Patreon/YT about some of my thoughts on protagonists, when the writing hits, and some of the things that bother me about silent protagonists in many games. www.patreon.com/posts/writin...

- I got to play an early pre-alpha back in Aug 2025. The thing that set Darkhaven (which was untitled at the time) apart was being able to destroy terrain with skills. You can do cool stuff stuff like ambush enemies by blasting through a wall!
- After ~3h with the Nioh 3 demo, I'm feeling mixed. I like the feel of the weapons, general pace of combat, and abilities (once you unlock some points). I dislike the open world format (feels repetitive already), the way some enemy attacks "lock" to you, and story. #soulslike #nioh #demo

- I tried Nioh for the first time, and if I had to describe the game in a word it would be: frustrating. Is it too hard? No, lacking too much QoL...maybe? But no. I just keep hitting fucking B to dodge in combat and A to confirm in menus.
- Reposted by TenkieiMy new video comes out tomorrow, but if you donate any amount of money to the National Immigration Law Center, I will send you the link right now. tiltify.com/@yacobg42/su...
- I'm not surprised Dreadmyst got delisted. Looked at the game just before it released and I haven't seen that many stolen assets since Civony.
- Ball X Pit is brilliant. The game doesn't take that long to complete (20h or so, 30h if you're going slow and doing extra stuff). This is much shorter than most roguelike/bullet heaven games. BUT you can then enter NG+ and do it all again. Great way to provide a continuation and also off ramp.
- This mission from Daemon X Machina feels very 2026. I can totally imagine a world where OpenAI needs its data centers defended from rogue military weapons controlled by Grok.
- Dunno how he got in there but dude's zooming.
- Trying Daemon X Machina, been on my "to play" list for awhile. So far it's discount Armored Core, and missing that FromSoftware magic touch, but not a bad game all told. But do I pronounce the "X" in the name or is it like Ball X Pit where the X is silent?
- Also, it's nice to be able to unlock everything in Ball X Pit in ~20h then sit back and enjoy all the OP stuff you get to do. I much prefer this to bullet heaven/roguelike games where there's stuff to unlock after 60h, and it feels like it's needed. Either make it optional, or make it less grindy.
- Been playing some Ball X Pit, and I love all the ways you can combine stuff. I'm also constantly surprised at the weird ways in which the game remixes its core mechanics. As I type this I'm doing a Radical x Tactcian run, so the game is turn based and now plays itself.

- DRG: Survivor review is (finally) out, yes I know I am behind on editing. youtu.be/ubPYegq-1Ag
- After playing a bit of Hytale, the game is cool but very unfinished. Low barrier to entry, cheerful world, it's got those cozy game vibes where you can get lost in a giant underground forest or spend a few hours just building a house. No videos for now as I expect a ton will change.
- I found a poison swamp. Does this make hytale a soulslike?
- I put all of my DRG: Survivor experience into some tips and tricks, hope it helps! youtu.be/7i6rNZ8czaw
- So far Hytale is pretty neat.
- Flying Waters, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The theme "Electric Tides" is a banger too.
- Backlog game progress: 1 - Finished 2 - Playing ??? - this year. One thing that has helped a lot is sorting through the list to remove all the games I added to my wishlist because someone said "you should play X" instead of me going "I want to play this."
- While browsing through the steam sale I found the sequel to one of my favorite games from when I was younger. That game was a tower defense "gem" from the days of Kongregate called Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows. So I spent the last few hours playing Gemcraft: Frostborn Wrath.
