Sometimes other people will say "hey do you want a cup of tea?" and then include what they assume is a normal milk/sugar combination and I just drink it because I do not live in their world

Feb 3, 2026 14:10Once my sister asked for a cup of tea with one sugar, and then I made it for her, and she gave me grief about it because it didn't have milk and if she'd wanted it without milk she would have said so
Is this me being a bad English? Does "a cup of tea, please" no other instructions mean milk, too?
