This is a crisis of power and corruption, misogyny and total insouciance or much worse in attitudes to democracy and truth. As for Mandelson in particular, there's rather a lot of people in nice positions thanks to his backing and manoeuvring, they'll be denying they were friends now.

For Scotland's May election, this is a mighty big nail in Labour's coffin. It doesn't make Scottish politics one without any immorality or dishonesty but at the moment London and Labour politics are looking beyond shabby. And the SNP will benefit from this parade of scheming operators around Epstein
