- The destruction by fire of the Hollywood Center Motel last night makes me very sad. We used it as a location for my first episode of The Wonder Years in '89. I also wrote it into And Introducing Dexter Gaines as a very L.A. noir kind of setting. Suspicious timing. Shades of the Pan-Pacific.

- I love living in Hollywood. You find someone who can repair vintage electric clocks and wander into a museum. What a cool experience.

- So thrilled to see this series finally getting its due. What a joy it was to write an episode and work with Dolly Parton. Thank you forever, Lisa Melamed, for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime! #tvwriting #screenwriting
- A story of family, home, tradition, and transition. This gent grew up in my 1938 streamline house. This past Saturday, he and his family gathered here to celebrate his 90th. It was magical. Here's my account with some fun pics! markbperry.com/2025/10/05/o...
- Happy belated heavenly or hellish birthday to my literary idol.

- Katherine LaNasa’s Emmy win for HBO’s The Pitt took me back to July, 2008 when I worked with her on Ghost Whisperer, and from there I spiraled down Memory Lane to April, 2000 and the time I encountered the real person her character was based on... #screenwriting #tvwriting #ssrotterdam #queenmary
- Congrats to the fabulous Katherine LaNasa on her well-deserved Emmy win!
- Truly makes me happy to have worked with so many amazing artists over the years. I adored Katherine and her portrayal of poor dead Betty on Ghost Whisperer.

- Some nice local coverage of my book event last weekend in Marysville, California. Still on cloud 9!
- 𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂 𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄 - To achieve the indelible voice of Pazuzu in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘹𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘵 (1973), Mercedes McCambridge had herself tied to a chair, chain-smoked, ate raw eggs, and drank whiskey despite years of sobriety. She originally declined to be credited, but changed her mind when the film was released.
- According to William Friedkin, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th choice to play the mom in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘹𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘵 were: Audrey Hepburn (who was living in Rome), Anne Bancroft (who was pregnant), Jane Fonda (who called the script "capitalistic trash"), and Ellen Burstyn who had lobbied Friedkin hard for the role.
- I love when someone introduces me to an artist from the past I've never heard of, especially when it's one with a name like Jackie Paris. He's a perfect cocktail of Nat King Cole, Chet Baker, and Tony Bennet. Here's his version of a Judy Garland classic. Thanks @billbarol.bsky.social Enjoy!
