- A technocratic response: they have not concluded that Israel is conducting genocide, but they have not concluded that Israel is not conducting genocide. Absolved of any duty to act now but covering their backs when charges of complicity are brought later. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/s...
- Israel controls the flow of food into Gaza. It has calculated how many calories Palestinians need to stay alive. Its data shows only a fraction has been allowed in. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...
- We can only conclude that the UK government just does not want to admit what everybody else can see: that genocide is being committed in Gaza, and it is being committed with the military, diplomatic and material support of the UK. My OpEd in The Guardian today. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

- Truly kafkaesque and outrageous. After months of blockade the Israeli government has set up aid distribution points, prohibited Palestinians from accessing them, and warned them that they will be shot if they try. Why is this allowed to continue?

- Syria’s vicious civil war has ripped it apart, tearing at the social fabric and wreaking physical destruction that cannot easily be mended. At least 30,000 people were killed here, hundreds of thousands more lives ruined. www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d...
- In the north of the Strip in particular, the recent military offensive is a clear illustration of the brutal war the Israeli forces are waging on Gaza, and we are witnessing clear signs of ethnic cleansing as Palestinian life is being wiped off the area. www.msf.org/msf-report-e...

- I took this photo in 2012 at the border crossing into Aleppo. There they told me that it would be all over by the end of the year. Thinking of my Syrian friends today - those that fled, those that stayed and survived the vicious onslaught, and those that were killed. I wish Syria a bright future.
