- Reposted by Carly Le MarechalToday I lost an NIH grant training clinicians to do research about intimate partner violence with perinatal women. More women are murdered in the perinatal period than die of obstetric complications. I didn't just lose a grant. We lost an entire cohort of people building careers to prevent that.

- "An NHS doctor dies by suicide every three weeks. A nurse attempts suicide almost every day. Even during the height of the pandemic, as the virus ravaged frontline healthcare workers, government data revealed that NHS staff took more sick days for mental health reasons than for Covid."
- This is a fiercely sad and damning piece about the reality of one of our most admired professions. What a terrible fate for a dedicated man www.the-londoner.co.uk/nhs-doctor-s...

- Smacking an adult is assault, smacking a child is also assault, we need the law to reflect this.
- When I worked in safeguarding, older victims & survivors were some of the most difficult cases. Often, these women had lived with abuse for decades
- I remember being sat in the team office and explaining to the secretaries about viral mutations and transmission, and how difficult isolation and containment is #fiveyearson

In more deprived areas there are higher levels of cancer incidence, higher prevalence of cancer risk factors, less engagement with screening programmes, and worse diagnosis and survival outcomes. www.cancerresearchuk.org/sites/defaul...
