- Reposted by pm-ral🚨 This evening, a notice was circulated from representatives of Peter Mandelson, via press regulator IPSO and the Press Association news wire, to all media across the UK We believe it is strongly in the public interest to publish this memo. This is it in full 👇
- Reposted by pm-ralLooks to me like it was IPSO who cited the privacy and harassment clauses when passing on a request for no contact from the media, not Mandelson's lawyers. The problem for Mandelson is that it is impossible for him to claim his situation doesn't meet the "justified in the public interest" exception.
- Reposted by pm-ralIf he has nothing to hide he should not be worried about the scrutiny
- Reposted by pm-ralMandelson has very serious questions to answer, and it's very much in the public interest for journalists to keep asking them. IPSO should never have circulated this notice, which is clearly invalid.
- Reposted by pm-ralBravo to the National Scot for not being cowed by Mandelson, by publishing his absurd request. Clearly personal and public inquiries continue to be in the national interest, so this sick assertion of protection should have no effect beyond bringing more scrutiny and disrepute.
- Reposted by pm-ralHe has a heII of a lot of nerve.... using a service for VICTIMS. I hope the UK media harrasses the arrogance out of him.
