- Reposted by Centre for Gender in PoliticsThis Belfast Trans Pride weekend, we reiterate our absolute solidarity with Belfast’s trans, non-binary and intersex communties. Judith Butler nailed it.. ‘If you sacrifice a minority like trans people, you are operating within a fascist logic’. #TheNorthSaysTransJoy #BelfastIsAntiFascist

- We are delighted to announce that the Trans* Research Association of Ireland (TRAI)’s 2nd Annual Symposium will take place on the 21st and 22nd of November 2025 in Queen’s University Belfast in collaboration with Outburst Queer Arts Festival and the Centre for Gender in Politics at Queen’s. [1/8]
- These exciting collaborations demonstrate the resistance of both T*RAI and trans studies to clear or unwavering geographic, political and cultural boundaries and borders. [2/8]
- In addition, this symposium furthers the inter/cross-disciplinary nature of TRAI’s work by embedding the symposium within the rich, innovative and exceptional series of events programmed by Outburst Arts alongside the Centre for Gender in Politics at Queen’s. [3/8]

- We had an amazing time at #BISA2025 this week - including a panel on Base Women and Beyond, which looked at both nuclear and military sites. This included discussions around what happens when the military leaves a base and feminist approaches to military studies. 🧵 - 1/3
- After the morning panel, we spent the afternoon listening to activists in Northern Ireland discussing womens role in peace activism. Hearing the lived experiences was a powerful and engaging conversation, bringing us on a journey from activism in the 1970s to now and what has changed. 🧵 - 2/3
- Cynthia Enloe said "here is what you miss if you ignore womens lives." Each conversation and panel discussion was an insightful reminder as to why we must continue to advocate, educate and learn from both the women who came before us and the future generations of feminists.

- Kicking off #BISA2025 we attended the key note lecture by Cynthia Enloe, chaired by Marsha Henry. The lecture was an engaging conversation about who is considered "canon fodder" and why people become canon fodder, as well as the role of military recruitment from a feminist perspective.
- We're looking forward to all the conversations we'll have this week with our colleagues at #BISA2025, as well as hearing and learning new perspectives! Thank you to @mybisa.bsky.social and @qubelfastofficial.bsky.social for the support and presentation space.
- We spent the morning in conversation with Cynthia Enloe at St Comgall's Ionad EIleen Howell. It was a super engaging session on why we need to keep going, keep educating and keep learning as both activists and educators! A big thank you to the Women's Assembly for organising!
