- I did try to use the real (virtual) stuff that I came across in SL. After all, it would be hard to make stuff like that up!
- Abbotts was a favourite location, and features in a promo video I made for the book which you might find interesting: youtu.be/GuQ0JrXuKgM?...
- I think "Revere" did actually exists, though "Quick Thinker's" home never did. I believe the swingers club might have existed at one time. I think I went there to investigate an infidelity case.
- I think I might have invented Poison Island, though the other two were definitely real. The "asian'styled" home was one that I had built.
- Jersey Island was where I established the agency's first office, and where I received my first customers - the giant geckos - yes, they were real!
- All these places did exist at the time.
- I think this is where I used to go to play chess.

- Glad you enjoyed the book, Steve. I spent a couple of years in SL running my detective agency, The Flick Faulds Detective Agency, to research the story. Met lots of extraordinary individuals. Most of the locations used in the book existed at the time, though I know many are gone now.

- 3) In a changing and turbulent world, we need more journalism, not less. I would appeal to Scottish Television to think again. You, too, can make your voice heard, by signing this online petition urging the company to reconsider. c.org/kwYmGnz2C5
- 2) The journalists covering this area have been involved in various campaigns at the heart of these communities over the years and doing away with in situ coverage will mean issues that affect people in these parts will be less heard.
- 1) Scottish Television are proposing to shut down their “STV North” programme - which covers anywhere north of Perth, the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Aberdeen. Basically half the country, where news has been delivered for sixty years with a very separate and strong local identity.

- In the last couple of years I have been writing and recording music with friends. "Towards The Light", an album of eleven songs, reflects on the world today, and on the process of growing old. Anyone interested can pre-save it here on Spotify. distrokid.com/hyperfollow/...

- When The Chessmen published in 2013, I was ready to leave Finn Macleod and the Isle of Lewis behind. But The Black Loch demanded to be written, and so The Lewis Trilogy became The Lewis Thrillers. The Black Lock, the 4th instalment in The Lewis Thrillers, will be published in paperback on July 17.
