- I wholeheartedly recommend having a sow feeder at floor level. Piglets of 14 days old are eating themselves fat without my effort. 6kg at 2 wk old. Some simple changes can make huge differences for weaning pigs.
- The GxE trial has now officially started! Pigs in all colours and patterns :) No boring research here the coming year.
- Applied Animal Behaviour Science now also accepts Short Communications and Perspective articles. Do note the submission guidelines. See the editorial authors.elsevier.com/a/1l2fUcF2Ow...

- Regrouping multiple litters while using the 50+ years of research on pig aggression. Little fighting and few hours later they all sleep together 😊
- The science on visual abilities of pigs is definitely age dependent. Luckily she still has her snout.
- Increasing animal agency: opening the door and see what the pigs do. All other days they left their piglets in the nest but today took them out. Natural socialization! #animalagency @liftcostaction.bsky.social

- Multiple-choice question when signing up for a webinar on Literature reviews... What is your top concern using AI, option 1:Risk of hallucinations 😳🤣
- When your study animals read the protocol 😅
- After 4 years as editor-in-chief I can start thinking of compiling a book with the most useful or funny comments of the reviewer-author "conversation" in the revision note 🤣 Here is one: "We are content with leaving this sentence in place". Certainly not the best response but it gave a good laugh!
- How it should be, in a 🐷 nest without being restrained in their movements or behaviour. Let's make positive animal welfare the norm. @liftcostaction.bsky.social

- It seems that the most difficult part of research is not the research itself or the never ending workload, but how to prioritise tasks when knowing that when you prioritise doing tasks for someone, you let someone else wait or sacrifice the time to work on your own research 😐

- Reposted by IreneGood piece by @natureportfolio.bsky.social. The erosion of thinking time—driven by admin, bureaucracy, industry agendas, and unrealistic output targets—stifles curiosity-led science. These pressures undermine innovation and the intellectual freedom vital for real progress. 🧪🌱🌍 #ScienceIsNotBusiness

- Happy to share our latest publication on the pigs. Conclusion: infrared thermography did not reveal differences between tear staining scores, but tear staining occurs also under high welfare conditions. authors.elsevier.com/a/1kFrK6fSi9...
- Amazing work today by the vet. Treating a pig with equal importance as if she were a valuable sports horse. Pig calmly lets herself be bandaged. No restraint, no injections, no stress. All animals deserve equal treatment.
- Our new editorial for Applied Animal Behaviour Science is now out, and reflects on the pace of science. Can you work for 50 years at this fast pace? 😵💫 And do you want to? 🤔 Read it at authors.elsevier.com/a/1kDbBcF2Os...
