- Member States were loud and clear: the environmental and economic impacts of ultra- #fastfashion can’t be ignored any longer. Countries support modulated fees that penalise the commercial practices driving overproduction in the #fashion sector, making polluters pay for the waste they generate.
- 🎶We only want: 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘨, 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘨🔌 NGOs, consumer organisations, and mobility and tourism businesses are calling on @ec.europa.eu to harmonise charging plugs for electric bicycles and other light means of transport. Read our press release with @umwelthilfe.bsky.social: eeb.org/en/civil-soc...

- 🚨EU's new law on vehicles misses the turn off to a greener future EU lawmakers struck a deal to overhaul car design and end-of-life rules, but concessions to the automotive industry weakened targets and delayed vital safeguards🚔 Our reaction with @umwelthilfe.bsky.social 👉 eeb.org/en/eus-new-v...
- 📈Soaring volumes of clothing sales mean more items being discarded, and faster - driving #textiles collectors and sorters to breaking point. ⚠️@ec.europa.eu must not curtail national action against #fashion overproduction. 🗞️Read our press release with @amisdelaterre.org: eeb.org/en/eu-commis...
- 📣60+ European and French NGOs call on @ec.europa.eu to support a draft French law that seeks to rein in the most harmful commercial practices in the fashion sector - and not to hamper it. ✉️Read our letter: eeb.org/en/library/n... @amisdelaterre.org
- Eroding vital protections will sideline people and nature, and leave Europe less competitive, less resilient and less sovereign. What does this mean for Europe's citizens and businesses? Read our press release: eeb.org/en/environme... @ec.europa.eu

- ⚠️ Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are being sold as the next big climate fix - but the reality is far less shiny. They are unsafe, overpriced, unproven, and pushed through with regulatory shortcuts and closed-door decision-making. Meanwhile, renewables are cheaper, cleaner, safer, and ready NOW.

- Staying stylish AND kind to the planet these holidays? It is possible!✨⛄💚 This Thursday, our textile expert Emily Macintosh will speak at @wecf.org's webinar on #fastfashion and the holiday season. Join us online on 4 December at 13:00. Register here: www.wecf.org/event/webina...

- #Plastic recyclers are under pressure Europe produces far more plastic waste than our system can handle, and #recycling alone cannot fix it Hazardous substances hinder recycling while harming people and planet The way out of this is making less, safer and longer-lasting plastics
- New #Eurostat figures reveal a troubling trend: Europe’s appetite for ever more #electronics keeps growing, while collection and recycling lag far behind -fuelling mountains of #Ewaste across the EU. Read our press release with @umwelthilfe.bsky.social & @ecos.ngo: eeb.org/new-data-rev... #weee
- "𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝘆". 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘁. 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁: we live in a digital space designed to fuel #overconsumption. From psychological tricks to misleading promotions, companies are finding new ways to manipulate us into buying more than we need. The #DigitalFairnessAct can help fix this... 👉 eeb.org/library/eeb-...
- Last week we went on a field trip with @recyclingeurope.bsky.social to see electronics and vehicles #recycling in action! A #CircularEconomy starts with #waste prevention - but once products inevitably turn into waste, recycling allows us to recover precious resources and give them a new life... 🧵👇
