- Every time I drop by the @nodegroup.xyz Discord (and I do it at least once a day), I discover a fantastic Blender tip or trick — especially for Geometry Nodes. That place is an absolute treasure!
- I love these small utility custom geometry nodes for Blender! It's so easy to create your own collection :-)
- Blender is the best thing that has ever happened to the 3D world. I’m incredibly grateful and happy to be able to use such a magnificent tool. But it’s up to all of us to make sure it can continue to be this way!!!
- What a fantastic small-great tip to Remove Global Transformations inside Geometry Nodes! 👉 All credits to @cartesiancaramel.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=HePi...
- A new small tip for Blender I just learned: we can Copy and Paste Drivers between UI and Geometry Nodes 😉
- The correct way to Combine two Normal Maps in Blender (applicable to any other app, I suppose). Thank you so much to Quackers for the tip!!! The theory behind this: blog.selfshadow.com/publications...
- I just discovered that Unicode icons can be used in the Blender Outliner!
- I just installed this little add-on for Blender and I love it! extensions.blender.org/add-ons/c3db/
- A small-great tip for #Blender I just discovered right now: To shade differently the active and inactive geometry in the viewport, go to 3D Viewport Overlays WHILE IN EDIT MODE and look for that Fade Inactive Geometry Checkbox and Opacity Slider.
- To all of you former Modo users, this reflection environment I created back in 2008 might look familiar—it even became the default one. Well, now you can also use it in Blender. Whether you were a Modo user or not! 😀 etereaestudios.com/resources/bl...
- After working with MODO for over 17 years, when I switched to Blender just over a year ago, what I missed most were its fantastic Falloffs... But thanks to the new add-on from the great Taz-San, that's no longer an issue: FALLOFFS AND MUCH MORE! tazaki.gumroad.com/l/gamki
- Simple Bend Ex is one of those Blender add-ons that, once you start using it, you can't live without. And like that one, there are many other add-ons from @kushiro.bsky.social, many of which are completely free. kushiro.gumroad.com/l/simple-ben...
- The great Yoshiaki Tazaki, one of the original lead developers of MODO, has just released a great set of tools useful for Blender modeling workflow. It contains utilities that are mainly aimed at Modo users to make Blender easier to use. I LOVE THIS!!! tazaki.gumroad.com/l/gamki
- Tim Johannsen has shared a nice add-on for Blender, “Boundaries to Ngon”. It's a one-click solution to fill non-intersecting edge loops with a small set of ngons. It extends Blender's built-in Fill tool by correctly handling holes and nested polygons. timjohannsen.gumroad.com/l/bounds2ngons
- Another little trick I hadn't discovered until now! We can control different levels of subdivision with the ‘Subdivision Surface’ NODE (within Geometry Nodes) in the same way as with Blender's MODIFIER!
- I've been working with Blender for over a year now, and I hadn't discovered the Skin Modifier until now!!!
- Step by step, my little collection of custom nodes keeps growing. I couldn't be happier with this software — I Love @blender3d.bsky.social!
- A little technique I just discovered for precisely controlling the orientation of our gizmos (moving, rotating, or scaling) using the 3D Cursor. I'm sure all of you who have been using Blender for many years already know about it. But for me, it was a happy discovery!
- The latest from Alberto Mielgo. A must-see on the big screen. The bigger, the better! www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvbE...
- Very happy with all the advanced techniques I am learning with @nodegroup.xyz masterclasses by Erindale. Here is the result of the first exercise: Medina Airport Columns. youtu.be/7rUmXd8j5C8 The course: www.nodegroup.xyz
- The great, the master, the wizard Marco Vitale has written a breakdown for his MV L-System Node, explaining how he applied Lindenmeyer's principles in Substance Designer to procedurally create organic shapes and intricate fractal patterns 80.lv/articles/bre...
- Working with procedural Bézier Curves in #Blender Geometry Nodes it's not possible to see the handles, right? NO PROBLEM: LET'S MADE A CUSTOM TOOL TO VISUALIZE THEM! Enjoying like a child with the FANTASTIC Medina Modelling Masterclass by @nodegroup.xyz youtu.be/Ve2mlODhPBo
- Someone has asked for such a pattern in the Substance Designer Discord... And here is a simple way to obtain a “Pseudo Poisson Distribution”.
- Well, thanks to the great Quackers, I have just discovered that “The For-Each” isn't actually needed in this case! As he said: “As both Set Curve Radius and Trim Curve support field inputs you can plug values derived from Index directly” Thanks!!!
- Thanks to some notes I kept since 2009, when I was working with Cinema4D on Nature by Numbers, I've now been able to recreate a setup to animate multiple splines using #Blender Geometry Nodes and the “For Each Element” feature. And I couldn't be happier!
- I've updated my #Blender notes and took the opportunity to add an INDEX for each of them (above), because I was going crazy to find things myself! etereaestudios.com/resources/bl...
- YEAH! Big thanks to M D SAI CHARAN (Just 3D Things) @saicharanmd.bsky.social (@sai_charan_md in X)
- Two questions for #GreasePencil experts (#Blender 4.3): 1. Once a Grease Pencil stroke is manually done, is it possible to change the hardness? 2. Combining Grease Pencil with Geometry Nodes, is it possible to paint with airbrush (soft) strokes along curves? THANKS!
- Yeah! 'Merge and Separate Group Inputs'—a small custom add-on for #Blender Geometry Nodes to keep your Node Tree clean and organized. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-1W...
- When using curves with Geometry Nodes, even though TILT and RADIUS data are read, the INTERPOLATION REMAINS LINEAR (see red example)—a #Blender limitation. Yet with GN, there's almost always a workaround! Many thanks to Shmuel The Noder for the invaluable help!
- Metaballs flowing along curves, with control over their SIZE and AMOUNT across the path (including internal spline interpolation). Then, turn them into a smooth subdivision surface with QuadRemesher. I LOVE #BLENDER!!!
- I never really paid much attention to Metaballs before, but seeing how versatile they are in Blender has changed that. And with Quad Remesher, the final topology is just beautiful.
- My new little add-on for #Blender Geometry Nodes is still hot, freshly out of the oven! 👉 ETR Frame Color Palette
