Lazy gardener, domestic imaginist. Here for the good life and sanity. If I don't follow you back on here, my political alter ego probably does.

- This is beautiful and seasonal! Hard to believe we're at this point of the year already...

- In a year spent almost exclusively focusing on the needs of other people (at work and at home), the presents I got felt like a Christmas miracle: the givers chose things to please me and me alone. Little things -- books, haircare, treats -- but they made me feel like a person again.
- To mark the solstice, I walked a labyrinth and in the proximity of some trees (too few to qualify as woods) and had dinner with friends. Later looked at stars, but it was bitter cold so didn't linger. I am realizing that even with lots of compromises, some things are worth doing, just to do them.
- My fav scene! Saw it first 1000 years ago in a theatre, no re-watching possible back then but the memory of it made a big impression. Strange to discover years later that Walt Whitman quoted Lord Summerisle.
- Reposted by Beau Nighdellwhile I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

- This was a great Sunday read.
- My favorite doctor and companion (Nobody liked this the first time around but I don't care, Shirl and Heather would still be amazing)

- Two groundhogs in the garden yesterday, Mr. Groundhog swinging his tail around like a propeller. And then... (I guess it's time to trap and relocate Mrs. G!) 🌱 #spring wildlifeanimalcontrol.com/groundhogmat...
- Looks like a painting.

- Sometimes a gray day is just fine. No sun today, and these yellow irises just glow. 🌱 #Bloomscrolling #Gardening

- Mystery solved: these bulbs are actually leucojum, not, paperwhite narcissus, as I discovered when one of them finally sent up a single pathetic little bell. I've now planted them outside with others of their tribe. Location of the paperwhites is still a mystery. I really am a #shitgardener.
