- The #RegRNALab is now LEAF certified! LEAF, is an internationally recognised green lab accreditation that aims to build a culture of sustainable practice in laboratories around the 🌎♻️ We are currently just 🥉 but we have our eyes on🥇! Props to Billi Ilkovski & the whole team for getting this done!
- Last Friday, Irving Jair García López became the latest PhD graduate of the #RegRNALab. His work focused on characterising lncRNAs in response to light stress in Arabidopsis 🌓🌱 and was jointly advised by Stewart Gillmor. Huge congratulations Dr García López!!! 🎉🎓

The Becker Research Group (JLU Giessen, Germany) has a fully funded 4-year PhD position in the ICIPS II research unit! 🎓 📍 Where? Gießen, Germany – great research environment & vibrant plant science network.
- We visited Sculptures by the Sea today from Bondi to Tamarama 🌊🏖️ - nice way to recover from all that writing. Thanks for taking the time to catch up on a weekend and for the lovely hang out. #RegRNALab @unswrna.bsky.social @unswbabs.bsky.social
- Wrapping up this year's #RegRNALab writing retreat with some pasta 🍝. We advanced on many drafts that should be out the door soon🤞🏽 Thanks everyone for your hard work! @unswrna.bsky.social @unswbabs.bsky.social

- We are now listening to our Keynote speaker, Matt Disney, from The Scripps Research Institute 🇺🇸, who due to unforseen circumstances could not join us in-person. Matt's presentation was generously sponsored by the UNSW RNA Institute (@unswrna.bsky.social) #ARNASydney2025 #RNASky 🧵👇🏼
- Starting the last day of #ARNASydney2025 with the RNA Processing and Modifications session. First, @edueyras.bsky.social, who is developing pipelines to identify #RNA modifications in using @nanoporetech.com 👀 this preprint on the conservation of RNA modifications: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
- Yesterday, after our 2nd poster session and a stunning sunset seen from the Aerial UTS, we closed the day at our Evening Social at the Old Clare Hotel 🥂 Glad Sydney weather has been cooperating 🌤️ #ARNASydney2025
- We are now in the non-coding #RNA session at #ARNASydney2025. We heard a fascinating story on other functions of the TERRA #lncRNA, which binds ATRX and gene promoters. It also is more abundant in the aging brain. A great talk by Hsueh-Ping Chu from the National Taiwan University. #RNASky
