- I know everyone is applauding Ilhan Omar for continuing to speak after being attacked but I sincerely wished she would have gone to get checked out instead.

- Reposted by sendeEssentially, what stops abductions is when crowds outnumber the masked kidnappers. When people aggressively follow ICE with whistles and horns, crowds are ready to show up. If they show up fast enough, ICE leaves and a family is not broken. (People here understand the stakes).

- I know everyone is asking about the husbands but what’s more interesting to me is she wants to know how they’re going to “continue normal life.” Because that is all white people ever care about.
- Black folks get murdered daily and have to define a “normal” that involves trying to manage the psychological damage of existing in a world that wants us dead.
- But white folks “normal” just means how do they keep their kids from seeing the “scary” people aka Black and brown people being brutalized because that might give them a few bad dreams.
- I have family members who keep traveling like it’s 2019. I keep wondering how soon it will be before we *can’t* leave the country. At least not in any legal way that’s made “easy” for us.

- The most recent example of this is Covid. People’s relatives died painful, awful deaths and it changed nothing for them. The drive to be accepted and go with the crowd is stronger than most people recognize. That’s why policy is so important.
