- Reposted by Tomás RyanPeople were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.
- Had the Irish government followed the UK response in the 1st COVID wave, we would have suffered about 2,500 further deaths (on top of the 1,635 people who died before May 31, 2020). Thankfully that didn't happen. Nevertheless, we will await Ireland's COVID-19 Evaluation...
- On January 21, 2022, and after widespread vaccination, Taoiseach Michael Martin asked us to remove our masks and return to normal. Then and now, Ireland ranks mid-table in the world in terms of cumulative deaths. Which countries were more, or less, successful than us is clear.
- I hope that international comparisons are included in the scope of analysis of the COVID-19 Evaluation - considering deaths, infections, and crucially time in restrictions.
